Any news on this guy? I have to decide shortly whether to start Huet or Khabibulin for next week.

Khabibulin has practiced (away from the team) for three straight days and could be inserted into team practices any day now. I would expect him to be taken off the IR in the next few days and maybe see a game before the end of the week. I\'m trying like hell to find a source I read this on (because I know I read that somewhere) so I\'ll add it to this post.

I also wrote a little bit about the Hawks\' goaltending situation in School of Block ... just waiting for it to show up on the big board. :P

    Thanks Justin. +1 to you.

One more question: considering Khabibulin might be back before week\'s end, who would you start? Huet or Steve Mason?

Columbus has four games this week, but Mason has really been struggling of late when he is played too much. Plus, they play Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago and Detroit -- four pretty tough opponents.

Chicago plays three home games against Carolina, Columbus and the Islanders, and I would expect Huet would start at least two of those.

So, is it better to go with Huet and two expected starts against lesser teams? Or Mason and 3-4 starts against some of the NHL\'s best squads?

Definitely Mason! Although he has been a little more human than around the trade deadline, you gotta love how Columbus will tighten up defensively around him
