And here we go again. Osgood makes 20 saves against the offensive juggernaut Minnesota Wild and now he is the second coming of Patrick Roy. He is going to start again tonight. I don\'t get why Babcock is giving him so much rope. He has proven to be terrible all year.
Head to Head League: 1 point for G, 1 point for A. 2 for Goalie win, 3 for SO.
Start 6 guys every week. 3 O, 2 D and 1G. No substitutions once they are in (before the first game starts on Monday).
Protect 3 players every year in keeper.
    10 rounds of drafting
F: Crosby, Point, P. Kane, JVR, Kopitar, Rakell, Tarasenko,
D: Letang, Doughty, Karlsson, Grzelcyk, Faulk,

... Osgood > Conklin. There should be no question about it as the team always picks it up for Osgood to get what is important for the team, wins. Conklin in the playoffs = sure lose. Just ask the Oilers.

I\'m assuming Babcock\'s strategy this week is as follows:

You\'re facing a bunch of low-scoring, tight-checking teams. It\'s the best recipe to boost the confidence of a struggling netminder.

Ask the Oilers? How about ask The Pens when he carried them last year when Sabourin sucked and MAF was injured. You have no basis of a claim that Conks would suck in the playoffs. He has six shutouts and is in top 10 for every goalie stat except wins.

sorry for hijacking this thread, but I currently have an offer on the table to trade my conklin for giguere. i also have hiller. i wonder if 2/3 of detroits starts with conklin will serve me better than all anaheim starts. it\'s a one-year league. what would you do?

If Osgood apparently continues to play with a 890 S%, he will get the bulk of the starts. So I don\'t really know what you should do. I think Conklin should get the bulk of the starts from here on out, but I\'m not the coach of the Detroit Red Wings.

Conklin did just fine...3 wins in four days is pretty damn good in my book.
That\'s like saying Osgood is having a good season because he\'s 17-4-6. Just like wins for a pitcher in baseball, it doesnt tell the whole story.
You sure like to mince words...during those three wins in four days he had a 2.00 GAA, 91.6 SV%, and a shutout. So even if you took those three wins away, he still had great fantasy value over those four days.

The baseball analogy is a bit flawed, starting pitchers play once every five days.

In a one-year league I would keep Hiller and Conklin. They\'re both producing and in good situations....Giguere is a bit in-flux right now...kind how Vokoun was at the beginning of the year.

Maybe ask your trade partner if he/she would be willing to wait it out a week or two to see if Giguere\'s role becomes more defined.

This is the most confusing thing of all-time!! I now have an opportunity to trade Conklin for Osgood, and receive a small forward upgrade. BUT WHAT IF CONKLIN IS THE NUMBER ONE! But why is Osgood getting BACK TO BACK starts?!

I wouldn\'t give up Conklin for Osgood. I don\'t think Ozzy will get more than half of the starts in any case. So, regarding the number of starts, you\'ll get the same amount in when doing the deal but Conks numbers are far better. It would depend on the forward update, of course, but if it\'s only a slight one, I\'d definitively pass.

Maybe slight, maybe more. Get Booth for Gomez. I am a believer in Booth, but Gomez has been ppg in the past month.

Wow, why cant Osgood have a shitty win/loss record so I could drop the guy and be justified? Losing to Columbus has to be some kind of low.

well losing to Raycroft in another new low .. i have Conklin, and seeing Osgood get 3 starts in a row in 4 days is pretty depressing considering how badly he is performing while Conklin is still getting shutouts...

i have an offer of my hossa/boyle/conklin for ovechkin/khabibulin and normally wouldn\'t take it except for the fact that detroit goalie situation is pissing me off (so I would get the Chicago platoon and he would have the Detroit platoon)

I could see that being a pretty good deal, actually. Chicago has a great schedule down the stretch run, which is why I acquired Khabibulin recently.

And Ovechkin is kinda, sorta, pretty good, too.

Yep, that offensive juggernaut Colorado gets 5 goals past him. What a joke.
