Kent Johnson
What is this guys upside?
ItÂ’s a cap league with a complicated bidding system for contracts so his 1.8 million cap hit and RFA status was really intriguing to me. I traded a pick with a good chance of being top 3 for him and cash.
I guess what I liked most about him besides his contract is his icetime he has been getting. G, A, PIM, PenaltyÂ’s drawn, SOG, GWG, Hit, Blks, Tk, FOW, TOI, PGI, SGI are the categories.
A lot of people thought I made a bad trade. What are your guys thoughts on him vs the top 4 this year. IÂ’ll be contending next season

I like him a lot more in points only obviously but that being said, at 1,8M, it’s still a bargain and a player I would be happy to own. As you point out, his TOI is always up season after season so he is an important peace of the team going foward. If he could start playing center he could contributing in the FOW category but with Jenner who coming back soon, I don’t see that change much.

love his 1.8 million this year and next two years. I think i would take him over the top four in this upcoming draft for at least 2 years. Those guys will be north of 4 million AAV.

I think that would be an outlier season, a la Robertson, RNH, Gaudreau. But if everything in CLB hits it could be possible.

I agree that 100 would likely be an outlier for him if he reaches that at all. But I do think he has fairly regular point per game or slightly above potential. The question for me remains health and whether that then translates into regular 40-55 point seasons or 75-85 points.

It wouldn't shock me. I think he's a 75-80 pt winger especially if Fantilli takes another couple steps.

Potential? Sure. He's a very good offensively gifted player. Will he ever get there, highly unlikely.

I've never been very high on K.Johnson but I like his season and I like the potential duo with Fantilli.
100 points upside? I'm pretty sure he doesn't have this upside. I'm not even sure he has a PPG upside.
I see him as a 65-75 points upside. If he stays healthy. He already had some injuries.
