In point only, Nikishin has a lot less value but Fox is still an amazing dman to own. I am not sure you can land a better player for a prospect, even if it’s Demidov. So I would accept it if I were you as Hamilton value will not go up.
I know Nikishin is poised to be good out of the gates next year in CAR, but I wonder how good he'll end up being? Specifically, do you see him as a good pts producer?
I was offered Fox + Nikishin for Demidov and D,Hamilton (Dougie isnt a keeper) in cap, pts only league in sig. We're huge Habs fan in the league so Demidov carries a lot of hype and emotional value
Thanks!

I see Nikishin as a 45pts player and maybe reach 50 if he can get the 1st pp.
I don't think Nikishin will have a ton of value next year in points only; Ghost Bear is there and his only real as an NHL player is as a PP QB (I watched him a lot last year when he was with Detroit and unless he was on the PP it was painful). So Ghost will be PP1 for sure; Nikishin and Morrow will be competing for PP2. That being said I still like this deal for you as Fox is for sure an upper-echelon offensive D-man.
I’d be willing to bet he doesn’t get over 30 points next year.
All aboard the TT!

Next year I wouldn't be expecting too much (as opposed to ceiling) - 30-40 would be a good rookie year for him.

My guess is Nikishin has 18 NHL points next season.
if he does have 18 points in 82 games i would say that be consider a big bust. He is not 18 years old coming into the league. Im not going to argue what he is going to do or what he isn't as none of us have clue. But i would say that whatever he does in his first full season, will be damn close to what he does rest of his NHL carrier.
THere will be adjustment period obviously, but i dont think there be anymore development.

He's put up stupid numbers in the KHL as a young D, his numbers took a dip this year, when they signed DeAngelo, he took pp1 away from Nikishin. From what I've read, his defensive game has taken another step forward and he is a big, physical D who can skate quite well. He has the potential to be a big, huge minute eating D that is a franchise defenseman.
Ever since DeAngelo left the team, he has 15 points in his last 10 games played, I don't think he'll be handed pp1 minutes out of the gate, but, Hutson usurped Matheson from pp1 this year as a 20yr old rookie, I don't see (not saying he will) why Nikishin couldn't do that to Ghost.
I could see a 40-45 point rookie season from him if he's able to get a decent amount of pp1 time, doesn't hurt that Car has Rantanen there now either.
