While the names have changed the process that Nabokov will need to follow toward an NHL career has not changed one iota. He remains the Av's best prospect in net for the time being, however whatever opportunity he might be afforded in the future is a complete unknown. Regardless, he is a 20-year-old prospect goalie who is IMO, 3 years away from an NHL career provided the stars align for him. To answer the question, he might come over after the KHL season concludes but I'd bet on him staying in Russia and playing with Metallurg Magnitogorsk another year or two where he is the clear starting goalie. That's my guess anyway.

As we've seen with Annunen, being the best goalie prospect in a system doesn't always mean much. One day you're the future and the next day you're killing time until Askarov takes over. There's nothing to do for a few years but wait and see how he grows or doesn't.

would lower the expectations, even if he comes over there is no guarantee...if you look at his and Fedotov's numbers in KHL, they are very close. However, while he is in NHL, he is far from the start he was in KHL.
