Default How much of a sell high is Necas?

I'm in top place in my league by 10 pts (see team below), still want to win but always looking to improve and stay young. Sell high and buy low.

We exchange points on trades but I'm willing to lose some points now to be even more solid for many years.

Some potential trades could be Bedard, Robertson, Celebrini, Pastrnak (but the guy in 2nd place owns him...).

I guess it comes down to what is the new standard for Necas and I know there was some other posts on that. I see him a a consistent 90 pts player, does that make sense? I think I can get a 110 pts player for him right now...

    Any thoughts?

He’s not someone I’d really try to sell high on as he having a great season and he’s a good player but If you can get a 110 point player for him right now I’d pull the trigger. But that ultimately comes down to who the player is, if it’s Robertson I’d keep Necas, who is the player?

Necas this guy!! He is going to drive me nuts for years to come.

If you can trade him to upgrade then go for it but honestly he just doesn’t want to slow down.

I’ll give you an example. I traded him during the summer with add ons for kuch. I am in a salary cap league so even here I ate salary. Don’t get me wrong I am happy I have kuch but what necas is doing is making me think twice.

My point is yes always look to upgrade but make sure you are getting a slam dunk or move on.

    Necas is killing me.

I had him for two years and released him in the off-season for Jarvis. Oops. I'd likely be in first place if I had Necas instead of Jarvis right now.

My advice is not to trade him. I just don't see any scenario that would benefit you. If you could get Mackinnon, McDavid, Q. Hughes, Makar, Kaprisov, Draisaitl (or a player with a better history of production), then go for it. I don't think that 40 games of elite production from Necas lands you a player of that caliber, so you may as well just ride out the season, you lucky mother****er.

Similar thoughts above, I wasn't super high on Necas and after carrying him all year last year it was a big let down. My league entails only keeping 14 so I had to drop a few, traded Necas, and a few others for Rantanen, so I could keep a solid Pt producer on the keepers list.

I should have traded Svechnikov instead of Necas. Of those 2, I think Necas is firmly establishing himself on L1.

Supremely skilled player who finally is getting forcefed opportunities he wasn't getting before. You could try to see high, but I don't think you'll get fair value. Probably more valuable to own than to trade.

Had him offered to me in trade early in the season. I declined. Then picked him up off of waivers. Recently traded Necas for Marner.
I would think he will slow down. He won’t fall off a cliff. Even if he drops to his normal points per game he should be good for 85-95 pts.

I've been thinking about this very topic, since I have Necas in one league. I recently tried to acquire Auston Matthews in a 1-for-1 for Necas but was turned down. I'd only trade him for an elite level player at this point, but I have him on my trade block anyway to see what kind of offers I might receive.

I would keep him unless you get absolutely blown away with an offer.

Agree with this. I wrote it in another thread, but his deployment has completely changed most notably on the power-play where every puck now goes through him on the left wall.
I think he's minimum a point per game player going forward, with more upside.
Selling high could end up selling low if you're not cautious while trading him.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.
