    Default Dmitri Buchelnikov

He is lighting it up in the KHL so far this year (29 points in 31 games), but from what I've read he doesn't seem super excited to come over to North America. Does anyone have any info on him in terms of his desire to leave the KHL, when his KHL contract is up, etc? The Red Wings could certainly use him!

He doesn't seem super excited to come to Detroit? He was in Detroit this past summer and the most recent quote of him addressing it was "Let’s see how it will be. I’m glad to be here now, but who wouldn’t want to be in the NHL?” ( https://detroithockeynow.com/2024/10/22/red-wings-prospect-no-longer-figment-of-yzermans-imagination-buchelnikov/ https://www.instagram.com/wattersper...p/C8k1ifzvR2T/ )

As for contract, his current one expires May of 2026. There is always the possibility he's released early like Michkov but it's better not to get your hopes up for that

    2 other things to note.

I'm not sure if this still stands but the KHL tracks and releases a lot of data and Buchelnikov had been recorded as the fastest player this season reaching 39.5 km/h a few weeks ago.

He's always been a goal-scoring threat as well but has shown much improvement this year driving the play and using his teammates. His secondary assist yesterday being a good example https://x.com/LGRWProspects/status/1863643930228600890
