Apparently Jiricek is to be moved soon. Seravalli said it's not the Canucks, but someone on reddit said before Seravalli tweeted out that Jiricek was to be traded to the Canucks. Kinda odd timing.
Buttttt Seravalli saying he could be moved in the next 24hrs (this was yesterday) is the "confirmed" rumour.
The reddit rumour is that he's going for a future 1st round pick+"big" prospect. So people have connected the dots it could be a Future 1st+Willander.

If I owned Jiricek in a fantasy league right now, I'd be trading him ASAP. I dont think it matters where he goes, I have a feeling his value is going to plummet once he gets dealt in the NHL.

I just find teams tend to give their own draft picks preference over guys they traded for. If he can't find his way in a team that drafted him, I'm not confident he'll find it on another team. I'm not saying that's what always happens, but it won't surprise me when and if it does.

Not that Columbus' player development has a stellar track record, but I'd estimate that the drop from future #1 bedrock defenseman to "we gotta get this guy out of here" rarely happens without a personality defect so large, another team can't fix it.
As JFresh hockey describes him, he has some good points but is not good at mobility. In today's NHL, it doesn't always pay to be on the Douglas Murray end of the scale of pylon impersonation.

In my dynasty league, I’m making a play for Jiricek right now and letting the GM know all the negative surrounding him. My multi-cat league is perfect for stashing him and waiting for his talent to mature.

Can't say I really know much about Jiricek or have an opinion on him in particularly at all. Just generally though, as a Sabres fan, I don't mind it if they are interested in every high-end D prospect that comes up and think it makes some sense for them to be. It's no secret that their pipeline is at present heavily skewed towards high-end forward prospects with only so many spots in the lineup for that type of player. At a certain point, diversifying is wise to do.
