I signed up but only added the account that skeets Friedman tweets
we'll see how it goes
I hopped over quite some time ago to Bluesky. It's an echo chamber for the those who don't like the opposite echo chamber of Twitter. I prefer it but I don't go there for much other than to follow a bunch of economists and check in from time to time and I am well aware that it's basically just the flipside of Twitter. I am ok with that.

Been doing some research on Bluesky but haven't signed up yet as I'm wondering how much work it would be to re-follow all the accounts I currently follow - especially since technology isn't my strong suit.

Ya, I can see that being the biggest pain in the butt, but I have also seen that there's a program out there that will move your accounts from Twitter to Bluesky. I haven't tried it yet mainly because I am giving some time for a lot of the ones I follow to actually get a Bluesky account, assuming they ever do.

I haven't signed up for Blue Sky yet. I checked it out mostly out of curiosity when I saw so much of my timeline posting about making the switch. It seemed to me that the snippet of popular accounts that I was exposed to in my short venture was predominantly people complaining or commiserating about posts that they saw on Twitter. Seeing that, I thought, "this is dumb," and wrote it off. I'm sure Blue Sky could be viable but it seems to me an echo chamber for people of a certain political bent.
I'd also say that I haven't had the issues with Twitter that many are complaining about. My feed is pretty well curated to the sports news I'm seeking. Any writers getting too political one way or another get the unfollow because lord knows I don't need a sportswriter's political opinions. I'm also a staunch user of the "Following" tab so I'm not getting exposed to random nonsense. I do wonder what the experience was for people living in certain American states where I am sure the ads were of a political bent, but not living there I am insulated from that. So my Twitter user experience has been pretty positive. I don't post much any more and anyone bringing negativity gets a quick mute so I don't have to see it.
I am sure Blue Sky could offer a similar experience, but since Twitter is still working for me I have no qualms sticking with it.
Yeah metaldude pretty much nailed it for me here. My situation and experience is the same.

The only people leaving X are doing so solely because Rocket Man bad. No different than when they voted Democrat because Orange Man bad. Policy be damned, the party of hate can’t get passed their anger.
I left X as I was getting blatant Nazi propaganda in my feed. Not hinting at being a Nazi. Just being one like it was normal. I was disgusted after I reported it several times and nothing was done. No need to expose myself to anything like that. Gross

I used a program that scans your Twitter followers and gives you the option to follow them on bluesky.
Howeverrrrr it only scans the names. So I followed like "Joe Blow Celeb" from years ago on Twitter that doesn't tweet so I forgot I followed him, then someone on BlueSky created an account "JoeBlowCeleb" but it's a fan account. So I ended up quickly following this random before I realized what happened.
I have the account, but I haven't used it yet. I need to kinda use a coffee break to go through it. One of my favourite and most used features of Twitter was the trending news page, and BS doesn't seem to have that easily accessible. But that trending news on Twitter is god awful now.
The straw that broke my back with Twitter was the "Wow Elon switched the like heart to blah blah blah" during the election day and I hated how obvious the hired bots were that day.

I joined Bluesky yesterday as well for many of the same reasons as noted above. Haven't used the account yet, just set it up and I manually went through who I follow on Twitter to see if they were on Bluesky so I could follow them there as well.
It was pretty straight forward joining, and the site is very similar to Twitter without all the BS and advertising.
