How much of a look do you think he gets next year? Given the Islanders lack of top end offensive talent and Eiserman not really having much else to prove at his level, I feel like he may get some PP1 time but not too confident necessarily about consistent top 6 ice time?

Eiserman will have to earn the opportunities he will be given in the NHL. Your right about one thing, he is not taking the necessary steps toward a NHL career playing in the NCAA. Eiserman will not jump directly from the NCAA to a full time NHL roster spot next year IMO. We'll see, and my opinion only, but Eiserman will have to learn the NHL game and it won't be in the top 6 and PP1 with the Islanders next year. I think he'll spend the year in the A and perhaps get a cup of coffee or two if he earns a call up. How that all goes is entirely up to Cole just like virtually every other good NHL prospect.

I would expect him to stay in the NCAA for at least another year. He is no Celebrini.

He is a freshmen that's known for having a one dimensional game and a general lack of coachability and teamness. IMO he has quite a bit to still prove at the NCAA level (most of which won't manifest on the scoresheet).

Ultimately I think he goes from the NCAA to the A, and when he does hit the NHL (1-3 years from now?) he should immediately get top 6 deployment, and immediately get dropped down the lineup (or to the pressbox) if the intangibles and maturity aren't where they need to be.
