Mackinnon Trade

The Mackinnon owner has been going through a massive rebuild, so I casually asked him if Mack is a part of that rebuild or would he move him. He said he'd need his socks blown off for an offer.

He came back with:

Boldy, Keller, Stankoven
For
Mackinnon, (Coronato or Blake), (Lee or Donato)

I clearly get the best player in the deal, but that's a lot of future to give up. Thoughts?

Players like Mackinnon don't become available very often, and to me that's a very fair price to acquire him.

As a Mackinnon owner I would decline that offer.

So it really depends on how confident you are in managing your team to recoup the losses of those extra bodies, but from the looks of it your team is pretty solid already.

But that's an accept for me.

I think also this is something you gotta do. I love boldy the others to me are good assets but fine to part with for macky.

Wonder if you could counter without boldy and add nylander with a pick upgrade for him. If he is rebuilding nylander is a piece he can flip and he would get a good draft pick.

I feel like this is a thread in itself, Boldy or Nylander, Dynasty format. Very curious. I think I do value Boldy more if I'm honest (despite my Leafs bias fandom).

Thanks for the input ya'll. It's hard to think of moving on from these young guys, but I like to think I'm quite good at finding young prospect talent and getting good pickups, so I'm taking advantage of the availability of Mackinnon.

Looks like the seller and I have come to an agreement on:

I give: Boldy, Keller, Stankoven, O'Reilly
I get: Mackinnon, Kreider, E Kane, Coronato

Wow, HUGE win for you IMO w/ the final deal. I am shocked you were able to also land Kreider and Coronato in addition to Mack. Other owner is gonna have some regrets down the road, especially if Coronato can develop into something similar to Keller/Boldy

Ya the Kreider add came in with adding OReilly as we just level-setted around the fact that getting Mack will give me too many Centers, so I needed to move OReilly, and Kreider being also 33 with regression in the near future, he threw in the idea of it as I was more on the edge of not doing the deal than he was. Also, suprisingly my league has been very low on Coronato. He hit the waiver wire this year when he was sent down, and I also think there's no way he hits Boldy's level but I think he'll be good in due time.

Overall I am still feeling a tad off about the deal as with Ovie, Crosby, Kreider, Hedman, Josi all being 33+, I have some heavy holes to fill in the near future, but getting Mack is massive and my team is a power house so I think I'm happy and your comment helps reassure me of that haha
