Default McDavid - How much should i be prepared to give up?

    Hello,

I'm quite new to fantasy hockey and this is just my 2nd year.

Currently I'm in a points league and the other day the McDavid owner asked me if i was interested in a trade.

    He's asking for J.Robertson, Meier & Heiskanen.

I have no idea if this is a reasonable trade or if one of us is giving up too much..

McDavid is the most valuable asset in fantasy hockey. An overpay is the starting asking price. That offer isn't even close.

12 team H2H Most Cats Wins; Keep 6/winner keeps 7; G A PPP +/- SHP SOG HIT BLK PIM // W SV GAA SV% SHO
    3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 6D, 2G, 5 bench

    C - McDavid, Crosby
    LW - Boldy, Lafreniere
    RW - Meier, Miller
    D -
    G -

    RIP Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau

Thanks for the response, I got the same vibe reading through some of the other threads that McDavid is always way above the rest. When you're saying the offer isn't even close however.. are you saying You would rather have the Trio or McDavid?

Can you give us more info on your league like how many teams, is it one year or keeper, what’s available on the wavier wire?

To me if it’s a not so deep league I’d give those 3 for him bc the two players you can add will make up some of the difference. If you have a bench and it then slots in other guys also mcdavid and those two others will also probably be enough.

If that is what he is asking I’d be interested in making this deal. League setup is a big factor here.
    18 team H2H Keeper League

    It's a 16 player league
    C, C, C, LW, LW, LW, RW, RW, RW, D, D, D, D, D, D, Util, G, G, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN

Honestly the waiver wire is abit thin..
I have Colton & Duclair on IR - So they may fill the winger spots but it will be quite some time until then. And even then I'm not certain how much space they'll be granted when they're back.

My mistake, if this is on the table then get the deal done. It's a good deal if you're getting McDavid. The lost depth can be sorted out over time.

Don’t stop to read this, accept the trade to get McDavid then come back here.

I’m taking this offer all day long. Even with a thin waiver wire you should be able to adequately fill the two spots even if you just stream the spots.

It would still be interesting to know if this is a 1 year league, partial keeper, full keeper. And by points league do you mean 1pt goal, 1 pt assist and nothing else counted for skaters.
I’m just curious. Regardless, you take McDavid here and right away.

So I did this and now I'm back!

Thought i'd give some more info. The trade is now done!
The Trade changed a bit.. from Heiskanen to Faulk instead.

Below is the league settings from Yahoo

    Forwards/Defensemen Stat Category

    Goals (G) 2
    Assists (A) 1
    Plus/Minus (+/-) 0.1
    Penalty Minutes (PIM) -0.2
    Powerplay Goals (PPG) 0.2
    Powerplay Assists (PPA) 0.1
    Shorthanded Goals (SHG) 0.5
    Shorthanded Assists (SHA) 0.25
    Game-Winning Goals (GWG) 0.5
    Shots on Goal (SOG) 0.1
    Faceoffs Won (FW) 0.1
    Faceoffs Lost (FL) -0.1
    Hits (HIT) 0.2
    Blocks (BLK) 0.2

So it's a 16 player league with an Auction Draft.
    The players involved the trade

    Timo Meier - 13$
    Jason Robertson - 19$
    Justin Faulk - 10$
    For a total of 42

    For

    Mcdavid - 56$

I feel quite good about the trade. I picked up Jason Zucker & Timothy Liljegren från the waiver wire to hopefully fill out some of the void.

I want to thank for all the responses in the thread, it did indeed help me get the trade done and accept the trade right away.

Even better… Miro’s slow start allowed you to keep better D. Well done

Ridiculously good trade for you. I don’t see how your entire league isn’t furious with the old McDavid owner. Moving Faulk instead of Heiskanen is the cherry on top.
