Default No Brainer? Pick up Thompson

For the league in my signature, my goaltending is struggling. Thompson was just dropped and I have the 1st waiver priority. It's a no brainer to burn the priority to pick him up, right?

Otherwise the best available free agent options are:

    - Hofer
    - Gibson
    - Knight
    - Jarry
    - Nedeljkovic
    12 Team Weekly H2H, Daily Lineups. Keep 8 + 1 Prospect (<166 NHL games).
    Scoring:
    PLAYER: G(3), A(2), D Pts(addt'l 0.7), +/-(0.5), PPP(addt'l 1), SOG(0.4), BLK(0.8), SHP(addt'l 0.5)
    GOALIE: W(2), GA(-1.5), Saves(0.3), SO(3)
    Positions - 3C, 2RW, 2LW, 4D, 2G, 5 Bench

    C - J Hughes(LW), Point, Thomas, Horvat
    LW - Robertson, McMichael(C)
    RW - M Tkachuk(RW), Granlund(C), Jarvis
D - Makar, Fox, Bouchard, Matheson, Dunn
    G - Oettinger, Skinner, Mrazek
    Prospect Keeper - L Hughes(D)
    IR - Zuccarello(RW), Toews(D)

    2025 Picks - 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, 10

meh, I'm not burning first priority in twelve team for anything besides star caliber honestly. Do you have min. starts? You already have three def don't need a fourth me thinks. Doesn't move needle enough above Mrazek to burn the priority.

I think I woudl not burn wiaver priority.

    I would pick up Nedel

And then if Thompson clears waivers - that is when I consider adding him.

Yeah nedelkovic is as good option as Tomoso. And he not cost you priority. I would also do that

Thanks all. Glad I asked. If he clears waivers, I'll consider whether to add him. I had initially thought about dropping Mrazek and replacing with Thompson. But sounds like I might be better off hoping Mrazek can work out of a slow start.

Nedel is an interesting recommendation. He has scored really poorly in our set up last year and so far this year so I don't know if he really helps.

And no, I don't have minimum starts. Volume is key though since we have no maximum number of games we can play each week.

Actually quick update. Lankinen was just dropped. Probably not worth the 1st waiver priority, but I assume he’d be the best pick up.

Nedelkovic, Lankinen, Thompson are very similar skill wise imo..Lankinen has been very good but who knows how long it lasts, if Demko comes back, its his net. Other 2 should get splits at least, unless their partners stand on their heads which i dont anticipate.

    No mention on Hofer?
Over three games, Hofer has gone 3-0-0 with a 2.32 GAA and a .932 save percentage. Binnington has lost 3 straight with a GAA over 3 in those 3 games. Hofer is going to be played.

Taking him over the others (that you aren't burning waiver priority on)

If Lankinen / Thompson clears waivers then that's a harder discussion.
