Default 2 for 1 trades - best approach?

I normally like to have a streamer slot on my squad in case I need to make up stats in a category late in the week or I need a goalie to reach the minimum starts. I like the team I drafted so I don't want to drop anyone but want to try and move 2 guys to get 1 better player, any suggestions on approach or who to target?

It's an 8T H2H yahoo category league, standard scoring with hits, pims, shp and sog. I'd say my weakest players are Buchnevich, Coleman, Brock Nelson, Kyrou.

It's a winning strategy if you're playing with noobs, but eventually people catch on. In a shallow league like yours I'd suggest that the 2-for-1 either won't be accessible because people know better or will alienate you once people realize it's a rip off. If you are going to go for it, you need to be offering up players higher up on your depth chart to resemble fair. Guys like Nelson and even Buchnevich or Coleman are roughly equivalent with what's on the waiver wire so no one should be biting on them being thrown in.

That makes sens, thanks. I'm definitely not looking to fleece anyone, just looking for a slight improvement. For reference, if I were to offer Nelson and Buch for someone like Forsberg. On paper, is that reasonable, or insulting. I can gauge afterwards.

Definite lean towards insulting, but everyone's tolerance is different.

Like I said, in a league your size, Nelson and Buchnevich are borderline equivalent to waiver wire guys. Forsberg would've been picked in the first 4 rounds or so. Let's say the Forsberg owner took him in R3, around his #21 Yahoo ADP. Were I the Forsberg owner I'd want 2 of the guys you picked in rounds 3, 4 and 5.

Got it, that's a good example of the approach I'll take. Thanks again!

    I'm fairly new to one year Yahoo leagues and am quickly learning that 5 + 5 does not = 10. It's more like 7 + 8 = 10. (ish)

From my experience, in one year league, everybody will look to get 1 for 2 specially in shallow leagues where WW is pretty strong. So if you are able to do it i would do it as many times as you can but i would not count on it, specially not pre-draft.
