Rank my ELC options

Thank you for helping me shred some salary last week.

Now, it's time to prioritize.
In my league, Entry-Level Contract players are gold. Especially when you can get two seasons of value out of it (sometimes the first season, they're bench players anyway).

They usually make up 10-12 of the first 15 picks of the draft.

I own pick #9. I really need a stud D for this year (yikes, not happening) or at worst for the next seasons. But I don't want to miss out on value forwards.


Here's what my top-8 looks like :
Matvei Michkov PHI AD
Macklin Celebrini SJ C
Will Smith SJ C
Lane Hutson MTL D
Artyom Levshunov CHI D
Zayne Parekh CGY D
Cutter Gauthier ANA C-AG
Frank Nazar CHI C-AD


Michkov being a winger AND likely a 60+ guy this year makes him first. Centers are easier to find, so Celebrini, then Smith, follow.

Then I need a D, so I have Hutson, Levshunov and Parekh next. It's my current order because I feel Hutson is more likely to contribute this year, but Levshunov might contribute more for 3 seasons. Parekh seems further away from contributing.


I have Gauthier next, then Nazar, as their double-position eligibility makes them more attractive.



In case all eight guys draft EXACTLY my list, I think 9th has to be Sandin-Pellika VS McGroaty. Due to positional needs, I think ASP gets the nod. But there's always a guy that drafts outside the box.

Anything here seems off for you? Switches you'd make on this top-10? Should ASP be ranked higher due to my team needs?

You want Hutson. But you'll probably have to settle for one of Levshunov, Parekh, or Buium. All three seem like they're at least 1 year away from the NHL. I would probably pick Lev, Buium, Parekh as my mixture of upside and risk factor.
