Commenting Issues
Hey, thought I should ask this in case I'm the only one. I'm fairly active on the Forum but would be way more active if I didn't get told every single comment and post, that I do not have permissions, and then need to reload the page, log out, then log in, and then post my comment within 30sec otherwise I have to repeat the cycle.
That has been my experience from day 1, and it's really annoying. I've put up with it, but would love to know if this is just me.

In addition to checking "remember me", you might try different Browsers to make sure it is not an issue specific to whatever browser you use.

Whatever forum platform is used here is not great. Mailing people temporary passwords and displaying messages like "click the back button to try again" is laughable.
As for the main site, using it in Safari on Mac is sooooo bad. The page loads are so slow, and the rendering and scrolling is super janky. I think it's the only site I use semi-regularly that has these problems. I get that it's "free" but if they want to grow this business, some investments are needed. If it's just a hobby and they don't care about growth, that's cool too.

^This is interesting. I use this site almost exclusively on Safari on a Mac and have not encountered these issues.
EDIT: Oops. I see the Safari comment pertained to the main page, not the forum. Yes, I agree -- main page using Safari is laggy as hell. Forum is fine using Safari.

yeah in my experience, the main site performance issues are only in Safari on Mac. Chrome and FF on Mac don't have those problems. But switching browsers for 1 site is not a thing people should have to do these days.Originally Posted by finnys_fanatsy
And for the forums, performance is fine, but the authentication/security functionality is poor. In fact, as I just tried to post this, I experienced the same issue JFulfy who started the thread. I had just logged in a couple minutes earlier and still ran into the "don't have permissions, reload the page, re-authenticate" nonsense.
This isn't rocket science.

Thanks ya'll - ya the remember me button fixed the issue so far, so thank you! Surprised I didn't see or think of that. Been over a year now actively using this forum and just put up with the nonsense haha.

I have never had this issue nor heard of it before. But I've always had the Remember Me checked off. I can see how that would be annoying!
