Would people expect Clarke to get first shot at PP1? Or could they go with Spence or a veteran? I assume Clarke is their best option though.
Sounds like Doughty could be out a while with a nasty ankle injury.
Tough break for the Kings, but time to vault Clarke up the draft boards

I assume Clarke too but admittedly that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

Clarke will get more opportunity and pp time for sure. It will be up to him what he does with it.
It could be huge though if he come out of the gate well.

Do the Kings have any D other than Clarke and Spence who have run a PP at the pro level. I strongly suspect not. Clarke gets PP1 and Spence PP2. If Clarke stumbles Spence gets the nod. That or the Kings go out and try and find a true replacement for Doughty which seems highly unlikely. We'll see.

I know many don’t have Burroughs making the team but he was added this offseason probably for his hits and depth AND it’s only preseason in a game not with the full roster but last night Burroughs played 4mins on the PP while Spence only did 2mins…
Again I know Clarke wasn’t playing and he probably has the inside spot but I actually see Clarke as a possible cut and another year in minors. He is only dman who is waivers except. This injury opens up another spot so yeah I will just say Burroughs could be a plug as well

I guess Moverare has an outside chance at making a splash....big maybe though. Kind of a now or never for him though, so he could be motivated enough. If this isn't his chance I suspect he's heading back to Europe after the season.

Came in here to see if there was any clarity on who to pick up so i dont have to burn 2 adds picking up both Clarke and Spence to holdover for Doughty's spot in my league where dmen are at a premium.
Based on his post, Dobber seems to think it will be Clarke. Ive picked him up already, hopefully the Kings indicate who they plan to put on PP1 during camp before I have to burn another add on Spence.

Clarke is by far the better PPQB. Just comes down to whether coaching prefers NHL tenure and comfortability or raw skill and upside.
Clarke has exactly 16 games of NHL experience so not sur how you can say that for sure ... he played under 24 minutes on PP in NHL with 3 assists. Yes he got huge hype and got some skills but he needs to prove it at NHL level and for team aspiring for playoff spot handing PP duty to guy with limited experience like that is quite unlikely imo. Could happen out of necessity but quite unlikely.
