Anyhoo - can't wait for puck drop and the competition in earnest.

I knew your Yahoo name but I wasn’t 100% certain which Dobber name matched up.
From being commissioner for a few years, keeping track of Yahoo name, Dobber name and email address for each manager is a main part of the job. Especially when you have to hand the information off to a new commissioner. Some guys are literally Bob, Bob, [email protected]. Others have three completely different names that give you no clues to each other.

Yahoo 12-team H2H partial keeper league (keep 7 vets + 3 prospects (p = skater <201 gp; goalie < 101gp))
G,A,P,PIM,+/-,PPP,SOG,FW,hits,blocks; W,GAA,SV%,Saves
Start 3/3/3/5/2; large bench, 1 NA spot
C: Eriksson-Ek, Horvat, Celebrini
LW: B. Tkachuk (c), JRob, Stutzle (c), N. Paul (c)
RW: Svechnikov (lw), Caufield (lw), Sherwood (lw), Bjorkstrand
D: Dahlin, Montour, Sergachev, LaCombe, Nurse, Ghost, Fowler, Walman
IR: Doughty, Nichuskin, Chinakhov, Terry
NA: Parekh
G: Blackwood, Wolf, Gustavsson, Samasonov
I feel good! Didn't know that I would. Pretty happy with my draft and going to jot down a few thoughts before the season starts.
Pre-draft plan was to make sure I got decent D unlike last year, fade goalies a bit and try to stay patient and remind myself that there were plenty of C available later in the draft.
Round 1 pick 7: Mikko Rantanen (COL - RW)
I had planned to take him here as he was always available in the mock drafts I did. High floor and solid coverage except hits.
Round 2 pick 19: Quinn Hughes (VAN - D)
I really did not plan to take him here, wanted D though and when Josi, Bouchard and Dahlin were all gone I decided to go Quinn. I hope he keeps shooting.
Round 3 pick 30: Zach Hyman (EDM – LW/RW)
The hope here is that he ups his PP IPP this season.
Round 4 pick 43: Vinnie Trochek (NYR - C)
With JEEK already gone, I decided to pivot from the plan a bit to snatch a center with solid cat coverage.
Round 5 pick 54: Jesper Bratt (NJD – LW/RW)
I had Bratt in the league last year and was very happy with the consistency.
Round 6 pick 67: Matt Boldy (MIN – LW/RW)
Pretty much the same as Bratt above, hope he can keep up the pace he had late last season.
Round 7 pick 78: Carter Verhaege (FLA – C/LW)
I thought he was very good value here.
Round 8 pick 91: Roope Hintz (DAL - C)
Probably could have waited one or two rounds later to pick him as he had a down year. Center on one of the best lines in hockey and I think he will at least start the season healthy.
Round 9 pick 102: Jake Sanderson (OTT - D)
Looks like he will be the number one PP D and he has promised to shoot a lot this season.
Round 10 pick 115: Adin Hill (VGK - G)
Had him last year and he was absolutely one of the best goalies early before his injury, after that, not so much. Supposedly he is very healthy again.
Round 11 pick 126: Devon Toews (COL - D)
Yeah sure I guess...not a star but solid enough value here. A bit of a stack with Rantanen if that even matters in this league.
Round 12 pick 139: Dylan Guenther (UTA - RW)
The one player I had targeted before the draft and I thought this is the place to grab him to make sure I got him. I was thinking Harley here too and he went with the next pick.
Round 13 pick 150: Jakob Chychrun (WAS - D)
Shoots a lot and could get a decent PP role.
Round 14 pick 163: Sean Durzi (UTA - D)
We'll see how big of a role he will have, at least PP2.
Round 15 pick 174: Charlie Lindgren (WAS - G)
Round 16 pick 187: Logan Thompson (WAS - G)
About as much of a 1A/1B situation there is, so putting a lot of G draft capital here based on an improved Capitals defense. Hopefull get all 82 games from these guys. Getting to 164 can be tough in this league.
Round 17 pick 198: Arturs Silovs (VAN - G)
A World Hockey Championship star which means absolutly JACK SQUAT as far as NHL success goes. Also could end up in Abbotsford if/when Demko comes back healthy.
Round 18 pick 211: Sam Montembault (MON - G)
Volume play, we'll see how long he will be on the roster as there will be plenty of volume goalies available on the waiver wire all season. There always is, since '08...
Round 19 pick 222: Lawson Crouse (UTA - LW)
My team was very light on hits, so adressed that here, plus he is a decent shooter and should get me some PPP too.
Round 20 pick 235: Matt Duchene (DAL – C/RW)
Maybe not the most consistent, but solid value and upside here.
Round 21 pick 246: Brenden Dillon (NJD - D)
Hits and possibly on the top pair, then should get some points too.
Round 22 pick 259: Dylan Strome (WAS - C)
Massive first line C value here IMO. Doesn't shoot a ton, but points and PPP.
Round 23 pick 270: Taylor Hall (CHI - LW)
Surprised to see him fall this far so I thought I'd take a chance on the former MVP here.
Round 24 pick 283: Anthony Duclair (NYI - LW)
Another LW with first line first PP upside available this late was another surprise.
Round 25 pick 294: Nikita Zadorov (BOS - D)
Big Z part two in Boston. Hits and should have decent +/- to boot. Easy to drop if not.
Not that I planned it, but in the end I ended up with four players from Washington and three from Utah, and both teams are much improved I think. Two from Colorado, Dallas, New Jersey and Vancouver.
I think I have solid category coverage, though previously I have targeted hits much more. It ended up not happening this year, as I just tried to draft solid value in all rounds.
There is always the fight for hot waivers...good luck everybody and let's try to have fun all season long!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…+/- is the worst stat to track in a league. Absolutely horrible.

Norris unexpectedly playing today has competley screwed me. Since he played I can’t remove him from IR+ and as he’s in that slot and no longer injured the system will not allow me to create any WW moves. I’ve already moved him off for Monday, but that’s not good enough. What utter and complete BS.
