Has anyone else received renewal notice without them really giving exact price ?

they used the pitch that its 40% cheaper (yearly) than if you subscribe monthly. thats obvious , however theres been additional discounts in recent past.


22-23 it was 179.99 - they offered 70 off for fmr nhl app custumers
23-24 it was 199.99 - 50 off for what I'll assume loyalty discount
this year , as of today 249.99

I thought it might be slightly cheaper this year with them giving up monday nights to Amazon

I'll watch out for a discount code

lol yes..ima hffa login and see whats goin on. i know it auto renewed on me last fall..

looks lke i paid $199 (had a -$50 discount) in 2022, $249 in 2023, an sounds like $249 in 2024 again...

I'm actually considering simply watching the 9-12 minute long extended game highlights that nhl youtube channel uploads after the games are played .I sub to youtube premium so it will be commercial free .

I have Prime so I'll have this new monday night hockey and CBC HNIC on Saturdays via my RiverTV app .

I think a good pctg of their subscribers transferred over from the nhl app back in 2022 (we had no choice ) so many renewal dates are probably coming due soon .

not all of us will be aware that the charge will be 249.99 unless you turn off auto-renewal and wait for promo code

This is what I've been doing for a couple years. I typically watch a game every night and then Youtube Premium and NHL extended highlights for most other games. My daily routine is wake up, coffee, and NHL highlights. I pretty much only watch extended highlights for NFL regular season games. I'm not willing to spend 3 and 1/2 hours on a game. A 15 minute highlight package is perfect.

I know the topic is SN+, but for people wanting just NHL games, what I've done in the past is VPN into a non-hockey European country (ex Italy), and then signup through nhl.tv. Just went through the steps for this season, and it's $14.99/month (presuming USD). Last time I did it, right after Sportsnet took over, it was still the NHL app as well (with their excellent highlight markers in the video timeline.

Anyway, haven't actually done it again this season, so your mileage may vary, but in case anyone is looking for a cheaper/non-sportsnet/nhl-specific alternative... worth a look maybe.
