Those are great odds! I have boldy, Ccand Svech as guys who could legit beat him out but thats pretty much it- lol! AND I've got Laf ahead of all 3- pm me of you want to take the bet...

We've been down this road but with what the rest of the internet is saying this was either an innocent (albeit fairly stinky) brain fart or it was an egregious mistake. I've heard the pp argument and respectfully I don't find it well thought out at all. I'm not going to get into it here but honestly I have Lafreniere tied at 1 with Bedard and tbh its not especially close after that...
You know I'm not a strong proponent of Laffy, but I've really have to tip my hat to someone who literally puts their money where their mouth is - color me impressed! And I know you don't like this argument, but to me it really is his inability to crack PP1, and to a lesser extent a sky high OZ% that can only go down. But if, say, Kreider gets hurt, letting Laffy stay with Trocheck and Panarin at ES, plus slide onto PP1, then he could explode.

Also, I don't like to tip my hand, but one of my planned fearless forecasts will involve Laffy underperforming. Please know it is not personal. I respect your views on him and, as shown here, you not being afraid to back that up. Reasonable minds can and do disagree.

I was surprised to see there was actually 33 players last year to hit a PPG. To me, there was only a few surprises that I wouldn't have seen coming. Sam Reinhart, Quinn Hughes, and Dylan Larkin are the ones who jump out to me as the ones I wouldn't have predicted so sure, there's always a chance, but it's rare that someone you don't see coming actually hits that PPG total. That's why I wouldn't expect too many to hit it that most of us aren't actually expecting to hit it. Never say never I suppose, but it's not likely.
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Peterka, PKane, Bunting, Voronkov, BClarke, Perreault

    G- Vasilevskiy, Oettinger, Blackwood

Here's the crazy thing. There were just 5 first timers in 2023-24, but 11 in 2022-23. And in fact for both 2022-23 and 2021-22, 29% of point per gamer were first timers. So it's not unheard of for there to be a bunch who make the leap.

    I'm going with,

    Bedard
    Caulfield
    Suzuki
    Dahlin
    Svechnikov

I believe Montreal is going to be the most improved team this year. Dahlin and Buffalo will take the next step.

Dude we don't have to go there again- its not personal- I
disagree but myriad opinions are what make the world go
round! You've got way too many GREAT takes to build a narrative off of one disagreement- and thats real!

That said the bet still stands! No takers yet... laf vs the entire field... surely someone wants to take a guy whose not featured in Rizzys TOP 30???
    Weekly hth league- 2c, 3w,1 ff (forward only flex), 4d, 1g, and one true flex. Sog/goal weighted for skaters: G4, A3, Sog1, PPP+1. +/- adds/minuses one for F/3 for D. Workhorse starters = GOLD!

We are a full dynasty keeper BUT we only protect 8 (9 if you miss playoffs)- which means that you can lose ONE player outside that range each year to the steal round.
C- Hughes(J), Crosby, McMichael, Buchnevich (C/W), Carlsson (Frm), Wright (Frm)
W- Marchand, Lafreniere, Zetterlund, Michkov, Stankoven, Slafzilla, Tolvanen
D- Werenski, Clarke, Carlsson, Orlov, Hughes (L)
G- Swayman, Sorokin, Kuemper, Fedotov, Nabokov (Frm)

Bedard and Hischier. Some others like Svech need health on their side. Heck, even Nico needs to be healthy too. So let’s see.

I picked based on a full season. If I'm wrong my list may grow a little.

Just read his intial post again. He says they must play half their teams games. So 41 barring a trade.

Dahlin - buffalo offense comes back to life with coaching change
Jarvis - less mouths to feed in carolina and someone besides Aho should get there from this team
Kempe - gotta have a weird one
Verhaeghe - eye test on a good team

I guess I kept Bedard off because - Chicago
