Comparable in the prospect guide
Maybe this is just the first time I've noticed it but some of the upside comparables in the prospect guide look off in a number of different ways. Here are a few examples of things I've noticed;
1. Player comparable is a player who has yet to come close to the specified upside himself (Kaliyev for Jiri Kulich)
2. Player comparable is a player who never has and will likely never reach the specified upside (Andreas Johnsson for 85 pts?)
3. Player comparable is a veteran who has never sniffed the specified upside (Alec Martinez 65 pts?)
I went back and read the "about" section on the profiles and I don't see an explanation of what is meant to be asserted by the player comparables. Is this meant to suggest the style of game they play and the point projection is detached from the player comparable? Seems a bit confusing when the player comparable is so far off from the point projection (which I know are very optimistic). You would think that kind of point upside would warrant a comparison to a player who has that kind of talent as well. Should I be reading this as "here's the point upside, but in all likelihood you're probably getting someone like this much more modest player"?
Anyone have any insight on this?
