Barkey if you want offence ... Solberg if you want defence (i believe he could be mo seider 2.0)
For my team in sig.
These are 4 guys I’ve narrowed it down to.
Who are you taking:
- Denver Barkey
- Yegor Sidorov
- Sergei Ivanov
- Stian Solberg
4 different guys in their own but they all have something special IMO.
Any feedback is more than appreciated and will rep where I can!

Denver Barkey - I'm doubtful he has the offensive tools to overcome the 5' 9" 155 lb frame. But, maybe he does, we'll see.
- Yegor Sidorov - With the offensive prospects firepower the Ducks have I'm thinking the Belarussians chances of cracking the NHL are pretty slim
- Sergei Ivanov - He has put up some nice numbers in the KHL. Not sure what that means though. He is years away if he makes it at all.
- Stian Solberg - Arguably he doesn't belong on this list. A 1st rounder who has significant potential, way more than the others if the NHL scouts are right.
The obvious choice for me is Solberg. If you can stash the others, fine, but I'm betting heavily that Solberg can be an NHL player whereas the others are far more uncertain.

Thanks all! That’s who I went with yesterday evening
I kept reading “most violent player”, “heavy banger” and other material in regards to his physical and defensive game but nowhere could I find some concrete info on his offensive upside.
Watched over 2 hours of clips (many repeats) and I found myself loving his edge work that I had initially overlooked when I first researched him. Nice strides and good hands; I think I he can be a great 40-50pt guy.
Thanks again for the feedback!

I don't think Solberg has the offensive upside of Seider - but he's basically the closest copy of Radko Gudas we'll see, and in a multi-cat that's really valuable. Pat Verbeek said it himself that he's Gudas just plays on the other side.
GET WELL SOON, DOBBER.
Solberg skates with some nasty edgework… not sure if Gudas can even do a full cross-over
But ya, I feel he’s closer to Gudas than say Makar. Seider is a beast of his own so even if Solberg can’t fully reach his potential, having a Seider-lite output is still gold IMO.

Thats a good way to put it. I LOVE Solberg for irl- but it feels like his offensive contributions are being a tad overstated here. The line you put out has a lot of value in a lot of leagues and I think that's your best case scenario- unless he takes significant strides with his offense i think 40 points is more of an absolute upside.
To the guys saying Seider 2.0- sure anything possible but I don't see anything to substantiate that. Seoder was never an offensive powerhouse (unpopular opinion: he still isnt)- but he at least flirted with a half a point a game in a pro league in the A- and hit for a tad higher than that in junior.
Solberg has like 4 in 18, 1 in 11. His best stat rate (most recent was 15 in 48 in the Norway league. He is a mean guy- he'll get you peripherals but hes never been a scorer at any level- so I just don't see a ton of optimism for projecting that. Crossovers are nice to see- but it doesn't make for a great argument in its own right. Maybe his development takes a sudden offensive incline (its possible) but hes a guy who made it to his draft year without ever holding down a significant offensive role on a team- I think its sort of... I'll advised- to count on that type of leap...
If you got Gudas out of him with the odd 30 point season I think you've come out well ahead on this bet...
Weekly hth league- 2c, 3w,1 ff (forward only flex), 4d, 1g, and one true flex. Sog/goal weighted for skaters: G4, A3, Sog1, PPP+1. +/- adds/minuses one for F/3 for D. Workhorse starters = GOLD!
We are a full dynasty keeper BUT we only protect 8 (9 if you miss playoffs)- which means that you can lose ONE player outside that range each year to the steal round.
