Default Value of Bouchard/Q. Hughes in Dynasty League?

    Hey Guys,

looking to trade for more offense, probably for a Defenseman, because my D is pretty stacked:
    Q. Hughes, Bouchard, Theodore, L. Hughes, Pionk, Hronek, Clarke, Ekholm

Would you trade away Q. Hughes or Bouchard? Could probably get someone like Pettersen, Kaprizov or Stützle with some extra.
Should I try that or should I keep them? Or what is their value?

League is a banger league with PIM, Hits, BLK, TA.

    Thanks

You do have some nice D there. I have never been a Quinn Hughes fan in a multi-cat league but that's just me. Points only, sure, but he's meh in multi-cat.

Personally, I dont think I'd trade either guy unless you're getting back a complete stud. Name value alone makes these guys crazy-valuable. I would be shopping Luke Hughes though. When Hamilton comes back next season, Hughes' production may take a hit just based on ice time. Plus he's younger so there's added value there. You should be able to get a very good player for LHughes. Maybe not one of the three you mentioned but someone very close to that.

Hughes would be the guy I would dangle. Bouchard is close offensively but puts up a lot more hits and blks than the one-dimensional Hughes. In your format he is a better own IMO. However, unless the return is an equivalent elite forward I'm not moving Hughes. Based on Dobber's top 300 skaters, Quinn Hughes is the 2nd overall D man behind Makar. The equivalent "elite" forwards: McDavid, Draistyl, Kucherov, Pasta, Bedard, MacK, Marner, Jack Hughes Ratanen and Matthews. The guys you have listed EP40....) are clearly tier 2 by comparison. If I'm moving Quinn Hughes I want one of these elite guys back, or, a guy like EP40 with a significant sweetener.

I'd prefer to keep the Hit/Blk guys.
Quinn Hughes is dynamite... but if the points aren't there - for some reason - it's tough...
Check in with whoever owns the brothers (Jack & Luke) - that's probably your best return.

If the deal has to be made today, I keep Q. Hughes. The reason for this is that Hughes' situation is as dependable as we could want, he is signed long term as are EP40, JT Miller, and Hronek. While Bouchard is the better current fantasy producer to me, his contract has one more year on it. And as he's the defenseman with the most assists in a Stanley Cup Playoff ever, and was a point per game player this year, he'll demand a good amount of money. Unless the Oilers let Draisaitl go or find a way to get Nurse and Campbell to retire, there probably isn't going to be enough money to sign both Draisaitl and Bouchard and still maintain a full roster. Bouchard on another team is still good, but not likely as good as Q. Hughes is now.

I think we just saw Quinns ceiling- I could be wrong but I sort of think this is the watermark. That being the case Id be shopping him as long as I got the correct... (cough, overpay, cough) type of value... I wouldnt move Bouchard right now- the Edmonton guys are volatile owns but as long as their on the squad theyre stupid good for fantasy...

Maybe I could try to reach for Pasta, but I'm afraid because of the hip surgery rumors.

If you can get Pasta for Q Hughes I would…I also think he just had his carrier year.

two years ago everything went wrong in Van and they were much worst than reality. Last year everything went well and they were better than reality. Truth is somewhere in the middle imo and if Van regresses so does Hughes imo.

Yerp- assuming your banger league adds value for sogs and goals thats a win. Hughes actually struggles with peripherals and you get one of the best multi cat forwards there are.

    Thats a win everytime...

But its a MASSIVE win when you have that type of defensive depth/upside in the pipeline. Looking at your team and knowing THIS was the trade I want to link Khalid "All I Do Is Win" to this post...
