    Default DSimashev vs. TWillander

Hey all, looking at the categories in my sig., which of these D do you prefer. I'm not at all fussed about WHEN they will 'arrive'.

    Thanks

This is 100% speculation, but IMO Simashev will be a better option in banger leagues. We'll see.

100% Simashev. Personally Wallindee strikes me more as a really good defenseman but really only modest offensive upside. I think simashev has a way higher offensive upside. I have read many good things on him. My two cents anyhow.

So this should really depend on your risk v reward tolerance a little bit but I think Simashev gets the nod outside of that too...

There are always D that take a little longer to percolate as they take each new promotion one step at a time- from prospect- to top 4- from top 4 to top 2- from top 2 to a possible ppqb- thats Wallinders route and while he can get to the top of the ladder I just outlined hes sort of at a 50/50 position right now. I will quantify this by saying the HALF that is SURE on him sort of seems to be especially sure- which you dont always see- but at the end of the day he looks like a coin flip to be an offensive contributor (or not)

Simashev has more work to do than the usual early first rounder... but his size and raw tools are stupid. Hes got all kinds of ranges he can hit but the one poolies want to see is a Chara-like impact. Thats the type of upside this kid has... hye could end up lower than that as a secondary guy or even a shutdown option... BUT assuming he hits hes a MONSTER hit.

I think no matter what Simashev is an nhl player all day just based on skating and size alone. But I agree if he hits he HITS. I’m excited to see how he pans out.
