(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
I'd say Knight, but not with high confidence. It's like 55/45 to me.

i think short term is Primeau and then we will see. Knight came up as better goalie, was spoused to be the NEXT one for Canada but it didnt work out like it so far. I think talent is still there and his upside is higher imo but who knows how it ends up playing out.
If i was competing next year i want Primeau.
Just like with Nemec vs Sanderson debate we just had. Knight is a better player, Primeau has better situation both on and off the ice in this case.

Canada is so bad at developing goalies that they're now stealing from other countries

Knight for me, although it is anyone's guess.
Knight slightly for me too.
thx for the responses. i was looking at dropping Knight for Primeau but...
i ended up moving Knight and KJo for a 2024 (top 4) 1st and a 2025 1st and Kakko (and Crouse who isnt a factor).
they likely weren't gonna make it a keepers for me so i think i did OK.

I drafted both Knight and Primeau in my league. As others have said, Primeau has had a better chance so far and has looked decent. He should at minimum be a 1B (not fulltime backup) for the foreseeable future, if not moved into the fulltime starter role.
Knight has had setbacks with his mental health issues, but his development and ceiling are much higher, especially with Bob around for only 2 more years. That Panthers team is very early in their window and Knight should slide right in.
Cayden Primeau for me.
I like the direction of Montreal and Laval.
I hope Knight is mentally doing well these days... but a goalie's mind is a wild place... and I'm just not on board with one that has a track record of issues.
Also... FLA... all elite teams get nipped by the cap crunch eventually.
We all love the Barkov/Tkachuk core... but Reinhart AND Montour are going to be UFAs that Florida won't necessarily be able to afford. I think they'll have to choose which one to keep at $8.5m-$9m.
Come summer 2025... you've got Bennett and Verhaeghe coming due at their UFA. Verhaeghe is looking at $7m-$8m with what he's been bringing.

IDK... I think Florida had 2 really good years of "value" play from their contract-set...
And I think it's coming down to reality soon.
