Default Caps Goalie Prospect Clay Stevenson

The guy is lighting up the AHL, leading the league in GAA 1.79 (next best is 2.08) and SV% 0.935 (next best are all more well known prospects, Wolf, Blomqvist, Sogaard, Askarov). Even when compared to his crease partner, Hunter Shepard (21 gp), Stevenson's (23 gp) numbers are superior (1.79 to 2.15, 0.935 to 0.915). Shepard is 28 compared to Stevensons's 24, which explains why Shepard got a taste of the NHL, getting in 4 games with the Caps.

If you are in a deep dynasty league and Stevenson is available, now might be the time to grab him and stash him if you can. He was available in both of my keeper/dynasty leagues. I acknowledge that the Caps will likely be in full rebuild mode by the time Stevenson graduates to the big league, but you never know how these things go. You could also use him as a trade chip as could the Caps.

StevensonÂ’s numbers are impressive, especially leading the AHL in GAA and SV%. At just 24, his trajectory looks promising, and in deep dynasty leagues, heÂ’s worth a stash. Even if the CapsÂ’ rebuild complicates his NHL debut, his performance could make him a valuable trade asset down the line. Definitely a smart pickup for those thinking long-term.
