Brady was clearly nervous and I thought he got better as the game went on. If he's serious about it (he's signed to a 10yr deal) he'll take his performance and look to improve on it.

I'm pretty biased on Brady as I've always been a big fan of his.

I don't think it was a great performance either (what I caught of it), but I'm sure it will get better. It had to be nerve-wracking coming in to a completely new role with that kind of hype. I'm sure there will be growing pains over the first season or so. But if Brady put half the work in to becoming a great broadcaster that he put into becoming the GOAT as a player, I'm sure he will do just fine. And with his personality, I'm sure that he will want to be the best at what he does.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

Someone should tell him that the Manning Brothers are better.... that'll motivate him.

Small sample size but Caleb Williams looks lost out there. I cannot believe the hard on Collinsworth had for him all game long last night. He could’ve took a dump on the 50 yard line and he would’ve said that’s an improvement. CW reminds me of Fields and we all know what happened there. Of course there will be a bigger leash and it’s still early but it’s gonna be a rough ride for the kid. The media has to calm down.

Agreed. The hype around a lot these guys is pretty out of control. It really wasn't that long ago that it was the norm for rookie QBs to sit for 2 or 3 years to learn and season before picking up the cudgels. That makes sense; NFL coordinators and defensive players are so far superior to anything most of these guys have faced before, it should be no surprise it take a while to learn and adjust. It's like young defenseman in hockey.

Just in recent history, look at how guys like Young, Richardson, Levis, Nix, Caleb, Lawrence, etc. have fared week to week. Not all of these guys are even good, much less will turn out to be great, but some will become highly competent in the long term. What CJ Stroud has done and is still doing at such a young age is pretty amazing. That the media expects someone, or multiple rookie QBs, to do the same year after year is pretty outlandish.

That said, I hav to admit that I actually expected more out of Williams out of the shoot. Pretty good weapons he's surrounded with there. Line is a bit of an issue still, I guess.

Sources: #Panthers Bryce Young and those close to him were 'very shocked' at the organizations decision to bench him this morning.
Are those close to him not very smart when it comes to football?

He had 84 passing yards in the game this passed weekend.

A QBR of 6.4 this week and 12.2 in week 1.
Average QBR through two games of 8.9.

And a QBR or 34.1 for the whole season last year.

I think he needs some time on the bench to learn some more.

    Bring in the Red Rifle!!

As a Panthers fan - I hope Dalton can't lead this team to many wins and they can get another top pick.

    The Panthers basically traded

    Caleb Williams
    DJ Moore
    Plus more picks

    for this guy...

What’s the point though of benching him? The Panthers suck so why not let him play out this year and have an on the job training type of season. Obviously there is something wrong here. With Young I mean. Hopefully they won’t keep him out too long or else we may never see him play again. His confidence will be shot if he’s out too long. They gave up a ton to get him and to give up on him is too premature imo.

Wow the Steelers have decided to crap the bed at the wrong time. Another early playoff exit seems inevitable. Ugh.

Hopefully another early exit = the end of Tomlin. Can't continue in mediocrity for the next decade.

I’d have to agree. Although it constantly seems that their choice of OC’s continue to suck at play calling but there has been one constant throughout and it’s been Tomlin. His streak of having a winning record might buy him a few more years but something needs to change in a major way. They have wasted years of Super Bowl type defenses. Plus ever since Ben left they can’t seem to find a fit. It’s not all white Pickett fences and Pickens is starting to annoy me as well. Rant for another day.

There would be a lot of very, very happy teams if the Steelers were to part ways with Mike Tomlin. He's one of the best in the business. The Steelers perpetually overachieve in light of the talent on the roster.

Tough ending to the regular season for the Steelers, but this season is still a success story. Their challenging schedule down the stretch was a major reason people (myself included) were skeptical they'd even be playoff contenders. They overachieved and made it and still have their formula for success: limit mistakes, force turnovers, hit a couple big passes, win the special teams battle. It's the type of formula they can use to be a playoff disruptor against any opponent. If the Chargers take care of business then we will get Steelers-Ravens next week. I'll be excited about the opportunity for the Ravens to get one up on a rival, but the Steelers have proven time and time again that their formula works against the Ravens so it's a dangerous re-match.

I agree that every team in the league would be excited if the Steelers let Tomlin go, but I have a hard time seeing it. If they were going to make a move (and they almost never do) it would have been before they extended him through 2027. Even though they backed in to the playoffs, it's still a successful season. I don't see them getting rid of Tomlin.

Well they didn’t get the memo that the game was at 8pm. Horrible start basically gave the Ravens a head start in the game. I don’t know what they are going to do in the off season but you need to win in the playoffs. Simply showing up and getting participation ribbons won’t cut it. Tomlin is one loss away from the NFL record of 7 straight playoff losses.
