I think Chicago trades down a couple spots and drafts Marvin Harrison Jr. I don't think they were drafting a QB anyway.
All things 2024 Offseason.
Earlier today I read that the top prospect - Caleb Williams wanted a guarantee that the Bears would trade the 1st overall pick before he declared for the draft.
Now I see he has officially declared for the draft.
Are we going to see another blockbuster trade for the #1 overall pick.

Glad Tomlin walked away. He is a great coach who keeps winning with a team that has struggled on offense since Ben left. No way should he or the Steelers be thinking of him leaving or being replaced. Did he prepare his team enough for the Bills? Didn't look like it in the 1st quarter but a few bounces here and there they may have had a different result. They need an offensive dynamo type of OC. Good on the Bills for storming them from the start.
Call me old one more time.

Schefter is saying that Jason Kelce informed teammates last night he's retiring. I for one, hate when reporters break this news. The player (especially one like Jason Kelce) deserves to break that news to the public when he's ready.
What a career though. He's def a Hall of Famer.

Reports are that the Dallas Cowboys are retaining Mike McCarthy.
There was lots of speculation that he would be fired after the embarrassing playoff defeat.
Sirianni is also not getting fired.

Colts news.
It was reported last night that at 4:30am on Dec8th, police arrived at Jim Irsay's estate following a call from Irsay's staff. He was found by staff in the bathroom unresponsive after a fall, then the staff moved him to his bed where Police found him when they showed up. Police found him labouring to breath, weak pulse, and cold to the touch. They attempted to wake him up with a sternum rub, but it didn't work. His pupils were constricted and his skin had a bluish tint. Officers gave him narcan, which he responded slightly to. Officers attached an AED, but paramedics arrived and took over lifesaving efforts.
Irsay, who has publicly struggled with addiction, was last seen in public a week after the incident at a Colts game, but then cancelled his band appearance with "respiratory illness" in January. In November he spoke openly on an HBO episode about his struggles with alcohol and pain pill addictions. His pain pill addiction started after nearly 24 operations related to his powerlifting career, and that he had been to rehab over 15 times.

Flacons sign Kirk Cousins.
Saquon is going to division rival Eagles.
Two big moves by these teams.
And does Russell have anything left in the tank after signing for 1 year in Pittsburgh.
And Baker - bakes himself a cake - 100 million for 3 years in Tampa.

Holy crap. What a day.
Joe Mixon released by Bengals, who add Zack Moss.
Quite the day indeed. I only really started following the NFL probably 5ish years ago so I'm always stunned by the amount of high end players who move compared to the NHL. So much turnover, especially at RB where many players are done well before they turn 30.

I'm all for signing an O-Line over an RB, especially if your team is crap, but it's funny seeing Barkley leave on a 3yr $37,750,000 deal to a rival but signing a former 2020 6th round pick guard to a 3yr $30,000,000 the same day.
I wonder if the top Rbs signing quickly was the RBs knowing they can't wait out for better deals, or is it the league offense is going to shift slightly to more run thinking offense as defenses have shifted to 2 safeties high and leaving the box open, smaller LBs too.
Sam Darnold signed a deal with Minny, so does Minny use their 11th overall pick on a trade with Chicago for Fields? Use it on a blah QB? Use it on a guard to help the sub-par QB? They have an interesting issue right now.
