well you know what you got in Raymond (or at least we have an idea of the floor) and there is upside.

Nikishin may very well be a better player when its set and done. If his KHL numbers somewhat transfer once he comes over (if he ever comes over) i think he will be a better asset in banger leagues by quite a bit. But we have no idea of his future...so do you take 6/10 now or do you hope the 8/10 will pan out....its your choice.

Nikishin has looked great in the KHL, and I think his skill set will transfer over well to multicat leagues. But there is risk that he never comes to the NHL. Belexus summed it up pretty well. You could have something special in Nikishin, but if he never comes to North America you’d be left with nothing.

    I would personally take Raymond.

Well said. As someone who owns both in a bangers league I'd have to give that a lot of thought. It really is a personal preference for risk versus reward.

I've been sitting on this trade since season opener...needless to say it's a hard choice to make.

In that case, I would ask for a + on top of Raymond. I think a lot of owners hoped to see Raymond break out more than he has. I think Raymonds stock was a little higher during the off-season than it is now. I would ask for some sort of +, and if you can get it, I would accept.

Wow it’s nice to see others share the same thoughts on Nikishin as I do. Before see this thread I’d probably have accepted pretty quickly
