Congrats to the winner. I was just happy to actually picked the two starting goalies in the final correctly. Lol
These are the final scores I have. They are preliminary as I have yet to do a final recheck using the Official Documents and would like to wait until perhaps tomorrow morning in case they make any final changes. Quite close in the end!

Congrats to Watchingthegame (if this score holds true)!
Not his first time winning this either. I remember they finished second too when I won it years ago.

Congrats watchingthegame! Thank you PenguinHunter, Doulos and everyone who had a hand in putting this on again.
This is my best finish in this pool, ever. Was exciting to see the final results (usually I reside much further down the table).
Did a thorough review this morning.
Turns out there were a few updates!
Mesar (SVK) +1 Assist
Galvas (CZE) +1 Assist
McGroarty (USA) +2 Assists
Gauthier (USA) +2 Assists
Hutson (USA) -1 Assist
This changed things up quite a bit but watchingthegame still held on by 1 point over dodospice. Congrats!

Who's interested for this year!
I am available for the front end preparation and entering stats after January 3.
However I am without a compute from December 26-January 2.
So if we want timely updates again - I would need help with that part.
I love this pool - but I don't want to over-promise if everyone is expecting daily updates.
i cant help you with updates as im very busy all the time and will be working through most of holidays but i would play if there is enough interest.

Does anyone have any thoughts on captains? Looking over the expected rosters, I actually think there should be some nice variety between the entries.
My thoughts:
Forward captains - Leonard (usa), perreault (usa), stenberg (swe), yager(can), Cowan (can).
Defence captains- buium (usa), sandin pelikka (swe), lindstein (swe), dickinson (can) , molendyk (can)
The Canada forward captains can be exchanged for others (Ritchie maybe), but I think the others are the only players who are must owns. Any other player I can see an argument not to choose them.
GET WELL SOON, DOBBER.
I don't really see a standout forward from Canada.
Leonard and Perreault are definitely considerations.
If Konsta Helenius is made available to Finland he's one.
Dvorsky from Slovakia would be another.
From Sweden, I'd say Stenberg.
For D, Buium, ASP are easy picks. From there, it's a bit of a scramble.

This tournament is heavily stilted towards Canada and USA with both around even odds to win the whole thing. Sweden comes in 3rd at +500 to win, while Finland is 4th at +850. Every other nation is over 20/1 odds. So if we're picking captains, I think those top four, with heavy emphasis on CAN and USA is the way to go.
My notion:
Forward
2 CAN - Berkly Catton and Calum Ritchie (would also consider Bradly Nadeau or Gavin McKenna)
2 USA - Ryan Leonard and Gabe Perreault (no brainers)
1 SWE - Otto Stenberg (or one of David Edstrom/Felix Unger Sorum)
1 FIN - Konsta Helenius (no brainer if he's there, otherwise maybe Emil Hemming)
Defense
1 CAN - Tanner Molendyk (would also consider Sam Dickinson, Oliver Bonk and Matthew Schaefer)
1 USA - Zeev Buium (would also look at Cole Hutson)
1 SWE - Axel Sandin-Pellikka (would also consider Theo Lindstein)
1 FIN - Aron Kiviharju
There are a few options to consider as captains off other nations but making them a captain is a good way to ensure those players simply aren't included in the player pool (like Dalibor Dvorsky) but if they aren't a captain they are likely to be on many rosters neutralizing their impact so it's a catch 22. But I do think people would have a bit of an easier time filling out their lineup with a few obvious picks available.
