Would you upgrade at this price?

Hey all, roster below in a 20 team H2H Cat (G, A, PT, PPP, SOG, PIM, Hit, BLKS, FOW) salary cap dynasty league

I have a chance to upgrade my Zacha (4.75Mx4) to Larkin (8.7Mx8)

The inclusion would be a 2024 1st, likely around 15OA if we are spitballing and Nazar.

Is this a good price for an upgrade, or would you hold Zach and see if he flourishes as the 1C in Boston this year on the much cheaper contract? Still trying to navigate through a little rebuild here

I’d hold off and see what Zacha does. That’s a really steep price to pay.

I think the price is steep considering the cap relief you're giving the other GM. Too expensive for me. Maybe a lower round pick.

I like the upgrade but I'm not sure this is the button to push. Zacha has upside, Larkin is at the lower end of guys who cost his price. This deal is here in a couple of months. I'd save the bullets for trading yourself out of a problem.

I agree with others, that this is too expensive.

To give you a comparison, I helped somebody in a cap multi-cat dynasty league this offseason by taking on Panarin, who had zero interest around the league. The price was a 2nd, and a 3rd. People complained a lot about how little I paid, but he was offering him around for that sort of price. I didn't think it was a real offer at first, but sat on it overnight, and told myself I had to take it, as I had the cap room.

It’s a bit of wishful thinking on my part but I would not be bit surprised if Zacha and Larkin are Avery close in production at end of this year.

That was on a team with a -40 goal differential where the next highest scoring players had 56 pts and 45 pts and there is little that points to regression. On an improving team I would expect an increase in production. Zacha on the other hand is a poor replacement for what Boston lost and the assumption that he's the de facto #1 C is not a guarantee.
