Jays don't add much, maybe guys like Barlow and Tim Anderson.
Verlander might go to LAD after Giolito going to LAA.
Scherzer, Snell, Hader aren't moved.
Obviously Ohtani isn't moved.
Tampa doesn't add a significant piece
Orioles add a big piece
I know, its no where near as exciting as the NHL trade deadline...
but its still fun to follow and discuss.

I hope the Braves add a solid everyday outfielder.
Then they could lefty/righty platoon Rosario and Ozuna.
Do they bring back Duvall?? \
Do they bring back Joc Pederson and hope to see another Joctober performance?
Do they take a risk on Bellinger to continue hitting well? And add his defensive game to the outfield?
Dodgers trade for Rosario was a swindling if you ask me. Friedman is an artist.
I feel like the Mets have a bit more of an excuse than the Padres. They've dealt with some injuries.
Verlander, Quintana, and Diaz were all hurt before the season started. Omar Narvaez, Carrasco, Scherzer, Alonso, Marte, and Pham have all dealt with injuries this yr that had them miss time. And how many of them were pushing through stuff to try and pull the organization out of the depths.
However, Lindor hitting 220, Alsono hitting 217, Marte hitting 250, and Nimmo hitting 260 is not the results you want when you spend $87+million on those 4. Then they gambled on Scherzer and Verlander and lost that $87m bet. Except Verlander seems to have turned the corner finally, but it's too late.

the Mets owner sealed their fate when he put their competitive ability in the hands of two starting pitchers well above age 35. Scherzer year over year is in full scale decline and it started his last season with my Dodgers when his arm began to give out. He is a "violent" thrower, it will not age gracefully. Now you are really seeing its effects with the loss of velocity. Verlander is f*cking forty, paying anyone that albatross amount regardless of past accolades at that age is beyond stupid.
He's 40yrs old, he's aged gracefully. He has a 2.44ERA over his last 10 games. His first 5 games are inflating his numbers heavily. His FB speed is down, but he's still using it effectively at 94.6mph and maxing out at 97.9mph, which is crazy because his avg FB speed 10yrs ago was 94.1mph, and 5yrs ago was 95.1mph. So yes it's dipped, but not that much.
I think giving Verlander 2yrs was surprising, but it's the way the Mets got him. What is also under reported is that he has a vested 3rd yr, meaning if he hits 140ip in 2024, he gets a $35m deal for 2025. I don't think he's underperforming due to his contract, but I do think the Spring Training Pec issue caused a bad start, and that is something you deal with older players, harder to return from injury.

Boston is listening to offers on Verdugo.
White Sox are listening to offers on everyone including Robert and Cease.
Cubs aren't trading Bellinger.

I'd give up the farm for Robert. Jays need to add a bat.
