Having Vegas as a column really helps...thinking expansion draft really helps.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I nailed the five consensus picks today... probably like everybody else:
VGK-CAR
VGK-ANA
VGK-CBJ
SJ-CAR
SJ-ANA
The other four were tough...
SJ-CBJ (really, really struggled with this)
And then the 100+ PIM guys was brutal.
Nobody gets 100+ PIM anymore...
And I couldn't rack my brain for a CAR goon at ANY point in the past 15 years!!!
Oddly - the game gave me a checkmark for my ANA PIM guess...
But I checked his stats... and he didn't pull it off while with ANA!
I struggled mightily with San Jose/Anaheim,
and now you tell me there is an easy consensus pick....
why can't I think of it??
And I was wondering about the stats rows/columns.
Do the player have to achieve the benchmark while with the team.
Or do they just have to have achieved the mark
AND played for the team at some point in their career.
The reason I started thinking about this is because of the baseball grid.
Today, the stat category is 500 career home runs.
There are some players that achieved it with one team,
but then there are players that achieved it while playing with multiple teams...
And the box for the teams,
the player doesn't have to play for both teams in the same season,
just at some time in their career...
So I am just thinking that maybe we don't need to match the season and the team for the stats categories.

The Anaheim PIM one was pretty easy for me. Same for the CBJ one. I have owned both in fantasy for that reason. You're right about the CAR PIM guy. I wanted to say Pronger but I didnt think he played there from Hartford so i avoided that guess. I took a shot and got it right. VEG is an easy one because they are so new. I usually think of goalies first when trying to think about who played for who because I tend to remember them more.
What really ticked me off was the spelling on the Ducks/SJ player I was trying to guess. They spell his name different in this game versus how it's spelled on the back of his jersey. I gambled and it was the right one, but a weird spelling there.

I didn't read the rules enough... (that players need to play at least one game)
I went with Quick for CBJ/VGK player :/ missed a box

This one was harder for some reason. Maybe because none of these teams have a really long history. Fortunately, I remembered that you can go back to relocated teams, so Carolina includes Hartford.

85/X/30 - My mind drew a blank for players who played for both San Jose and Columbus!

Yes, although I picked the player he was traded for, who also had a 100 PIM season during his brief time with the Whalers.
And agree, I'm not going to this thread until after I play. I was listening to a show where they started talking about today's picks and immediately put it on mute so I could go play.
