    Wasn't the theory that they were clearing cap space for something big and it fell through?

    The Wings had too many defensemen. Maybe there were some negatives to Walman but IMO it's another example of GMs not planning well and forcing themselves to make a move.

    The were clearing cap space for Stamkos, but that still doesn't make the trade defensible.
