Considering how his signing went down, yeah. The way his preferred destinations didn't have space (NYI, Philly) pretty much turned away from him, and he kinda fell into CBJ lap, I would say it would still play out that way.

I dont hate it actually. Sure, he's a hard ass, but he's also had success in the league and hockey in general. Columbus had some good years under hard ass coaches (Torts and Hitchcock) so maybe this train of thought will work again there.

I view Torts and Babcock differently. Both are demanding and effective but Torts seems fair, thoughtful, and concerned about the overall welfare of his players while Babcock just sounds like a bully and a narcissist. I'd love to play for a coach like Torts.

I like the idea that Babcock is getting a 2nd chance.

I wonder if this decision by the Blue Jackets is what lead to Quenneville and Bowman requesting meetings with Commissioner Bettman.

Until you really get behind closed doors with any of them, you truly don't know what they are like. We see what the media shows up most times. Rarely does the real locker room make it past the doors.

I am ok with this for one sole reason....... my friend and i had a bet when Babcock was fired in 2019. My friend was so sure Babcock would never get a head coaching job again after all those stories came out that he bet me $5 without any time stipulation. Babcock either retires/dies or gets a head coaching job and it appears itll be the latter haha

But it did with all the head game crap with Marner etc. We can guess at a reformed personality but in my experience egos like his aren’t capable of true change.

I don't know if guys on here follow "puckempire" on instagram, but they share snippets from this coach review website often. It's a website that is like rate-my-teacher but for coaches. However, the only people who can submit reviews are players.

I say this because generally the posts that puckempire have shared on Tortorella have been positive. But this is the site, it looks like it's only Apple App based.

Ya, so the site is all app based it looks like. But if you have instagram and lurk PuckEmpire you'll see screenshots of coaches and reviews from anonymous players on the coaches. It's typically the 2nd slide of a post.
