Laine for Chabot

16 team dynasty league I am currently trying to build a roster that’s competitive but young ( I want a large window ) I finished 1 spot outside of playoffs and now I think I’ll start making some win now moves. Scoring category are G, A, PTS, Hits, FOW, SOG, BLKs, TOI, W, Sv%, GAA, Sv. Max of 2 goalies on active roster. Minor eligibility is 150 games

C- Aho, Eichel, Pettterson, Norris, , Gourde, Barkov

LW-, Landeskog, Mangiapane,
Keller, Terivianen, Mittelstad, Hintz and Guadreau

RW- Roy, Tanev, Sheary and Yamamoto

D- Dahlin, Makar, Morgan Rielly , McAvoy, Ristolainen, Chabot, Adam Larsson and Poink

G- Demko, Samsonov( IR )

Picks- 1st overall and 40th overall

Prospects- Connor Geekie, Riley Kidney , Quinton Byfield , T.Bourdeleau, B.Brisson, Jacob Perriault, Danila Yurov, Fydor Svechkov, Edvinsson, Hienola, Lambos, Mallioux, Niemela and Livingstone + spot start players ( 150 games max )

My opinion- This is a upper middle of the pack team in terms of competitiveness and my wingers are what’s holding me back.

The trade offer is Laine for Chabot.

Laine is Currently a LW but one of him or Guadreau should switch to RW which kinda sets my Forward group in stone and allows me to grab a multicat filler on defence. What do you guys think I know a lot of posters were saying Chabot wasn’t a good target for me but I feel like this is a nice flip

I like it, especially since you're weak on wing. I think Chabot will be used more in a defensive posture going forward, with Chychrun and Sanderson taking the more prime spots. I can see that Laine is incredibly injury-prone, so some might argue against it. I think he'll be like Malkin, basically PPG+ but you'll have awful years lost to injury.

I personally would rather still bet on potential of Laine rather than the slow decline I think will happen with Chabot.

I prefer Laine over Chabot by a decent amount.

I could be blind but I don't see Nylander in that team description and I'm assuming Keller is dual eligible but as far as pure RW, Laine is far and away better than the RW's listed. He has the D depth to move on from Chabot for sure.
