So maybe all is well when it’s to their (the Leafs) advantage and then when it isn’t it’s an investigation?

100%. That's how a lot of business deals work. Depends what side you're on.

If it's an advantage, but shady to side A it's fine to side A. But if it's an advantage but shady to side B, it's not fine for side A.

However, just thinking about Shanahan's big presser, he specifically detailed A LOT, but didn't mention Dubas's agent by name or affiliation. He kinda side stepped that. He went out of his way really.

I looked at the Ownership structure of the Leafs, and I have to say I can now see how the decision making might take longer than Dubas wanted.

I attached the picture from Wiki on it. But it makes a lot of sense now how decisions could have went through a bunch of steps first.

1 thing I forgot, MLSE is split 75/25 between Rogers/Bell Holding Company and Kilmer Sports (Larry Tanenbaum). The Rogers/Bell is split 50/50. But because Bell owns 18% of The Canadiens, the 50% of the 75% Bell owns is split 74.67/25.33 between Bell Canada Enterprise and a Pension Fund. The NHL has a rule that you can't have over a 30% share of 2 separate sports organizations.

So I'm sure the seats at the table also have to consider kind of, if there's conflicts of interest between the move and the Canadiens. I can see it being annoying and actually cumbersome if Dubas is like "We need to do this deal" and they need to gather a bunch of execs, Larry Tannebaum, and have Bell and Rogers needing to agree.
