Dubas is out.
One would have to expect this spells the end for Keefe as well.

Why is Shanny announcing this? He should have been first.
Based on this news and his comments from a few days ago, this year must have been extremely taxing on him and his family. Any team that can coax him back into a job will be lucky.
If Keefe isn't gone now I'd be shocked.

Dude deserves a break. Good for him. I anticipate he'll have his pick of GM jobs next year
One day I will quit fantasy hockey, today is not that day.
Shanny will talk to the media at 3pm.
I expect Pridham to be promoted.
Marlies coaching staff also let go today. Team is in need of a new GM (or AGM), minor league coaching staff, possible NHL coaching staff, addressing draft needs, and talking to Matthews, Nylander, and Marner before July 1st.
Interested on Dubas's role at the NHL draft June 28-29th as his contract is up July 1st. He might be around for it, but I don't know why/how that's a good idea for even him if it's based off his family.

I don't think this was the right move. He did a pretty good job with the Leafs. He provided the players to compete. Coaching let him down.
“Let it be known that this organization will not tolerate failure…”
Dr Evil just dumped Dubas into the flaming pit under the board room.

Wow Shanny is just going through the whole timeline here.
I love the openness.
Say whatever you want about the Leafs, but it really seems like an amazingly run organization.

Wow, Shanahan offered Dubas a deal, Dubas countered and Shanahan rejected the counter.
Shanahan knew Dubas concerns with the family stuff prior to Monday, but felt the scenario shifted once Dubas talked about it on Monday. Dubas agent countered the offer, while Shanahan started to think of the Leafs future without Dubas. There was a large gap in the counter in terms of dollar figure yesterday when Shanahan received it. Slept on it, and informed Dubas today he was not going to be the Leafs GM next yr. This was Shanahan's decision.
Rumoured dollar figures was $4m/yr (with use of jet whenever and other perks), Dubas wanted$6-7m/yr for 5yrs and full autonomy.
I'm surprised honestly on it.

This team needs more Lamoriello. If you have too much talent and not enough "working class grit", Lou might be right for you. Tired of negotiating with key players? Lou is the answer. Lou is not right for every franchise, consult your personal ambition as an NHL owner before trying Lou. If symptoms do not improve or become worse stop using Lou and consult your fanbase.
Side effects may include: not drafting anyone worth a damn, losing your mustache, lowered jersey numbers, inability to score, aneurism, and insomnia.
