    Default Bedard for big package

Hi, just won my Bedard lottery and got an offer to move down, need some opinions!

    Bedard
    Krebs
    vs
    2nd overall (Fantilli)
    Boldy
    First 2024 (10-20)
    21st pick 2023
Holtz or Wright (not officially in the offer, but would be in my counter)

IMO I should be keeping the best player in the deal but maybe It's worth it?!

    Thanks

    Hard no for me.

Despite Chicago being insanely talent-bare right now, we all know they are a cap-spending team and will eventually surround Bedard with a massive amount of talent.
In 3 years, Bedard will be scoring 100+ points and Chicago will be stocked and a playoff team. It'll happen quick.

Issue with 2nd overall is that Fantilli is probably going to Anaheim - who never has enough money.
It's fun now, and maybe Fantilli-Zegras-McTavish pop about 2 years from now.
Then ANA had to give Zegras $8m, and soon they'll have to give the other kids a bunch of dough.
There just isn't enough to go around.

Alternatively, IF you can wait for the draft, maybe Fantilli slips for some reason and goes to Columbus.
THAT is a dream route for Fantilli - and you might consider it then.

But... I think you have to think about Bedard (CHI) on a loaded CHI roster.
Because that WILL happen... and that's worth holding and waiting for.

I'd be keeping Bedard here too. It's a decent offer but I'm always after filling spots with the most potent players possible.

If your team was super shallow (and you took our Krebs & added in Wright) I'd maybe do it. But since it's not a true dynasty league, and instead a Keep 8/4/1, I think you should keep Bedard here.

Yup thats a no- and im gonna be honest I've still got a lot of hope for guys like Holtz and Wright but I wouldn't bother. If the names were your mcdavid for eichel and all those pieces would you do it? Its the same here- inside three uears you'll have one of the two players people would trade anything for- don't sell him for this- its not really as enticing as it looks- late firsts in a year or two could be pure misses. Heck I love Holtz and he could be a pure miss! Passing...

To directly answer your question, no, it's not worth it. You have a lot of solid young prospects and sending the best of the bunch for lesser pieces is just not a good idea. Quality vs Quantity, give me the quality and your league format makes this even more relevant. If a pieces like Aho, Panarin, Barkov etc were coming back your way then I'm listening more carefully but the best prospect in many years for a bunch of lesser talent and maybes is a hard pass for me.

Sorry my sig was misleading, it is a full keeper, not dropping anyone, but I see your point!

Thank you all for the replies, seems unanimous here. I was curious, not many people thinking Bedard is overhyped, but I'm happy with that

I don't like the pieces coming back enough for this deal. If the main guy was Stutzle, Robertson, etc, then I'd be all over it. The next tier down would have me thinking, but Boldy isn't good enough.

That’s a No. I do think Michkov would be better than Fantilli. However you’re basically getting the next McDavid here though he’s a bit smaller. I own McDavid in a very deep dynasty and have turned down some fair sized offers (though none to blow the doors off). Unless I’m getting McKinnon or Draisaitl and the 2OA I don’t think I’d be moving that pick.

I’m not a Boldy fan. Like others have said, it would have to be a much better player than Boldy for me to consider this.

I should clarify and say that I’m not a Boldy fan if the ask is Bedard.
