How do I move forward? Need all opinions.
Not the team in my signature, but same categories and structure.
I just took over the team that finished 8th worst. They have their own 1st in all upcoming years. I don’t see any true studs or any blue-chip prospects.
How do I go about moving forward.
I have a trade offer to acquire Pastrnak for Chaz Lucius, Shane Wright, my 1st this year (6% chance at Bedard, same % for Fantilli) and a good teams 1st in 2024.
Is this something I accept? Or do I keep my youth and do a proper rebuild? I need help because I’ve never taken over a team before.

Is the league the same size? 8th worst but we dont know how many teams.
Also, what does your full roster look like? Did you just have a bad year or is this a team that needs a rebuild? You probably aren't getting many replies because you aren't offering enough information for people to make a proper judgement on your proposal.

Thank you. I thought I gave enough info by saying same size and structure. Everything is the same. The team is obviously different and sucks. I thought by saying no studs and no blue-chips prospects was a nice way of saying my team sucks.Originally Posted by Axeman33

1) If you don’t win the lottery, what spot will your pick be?
2) To me it’s the cap issue that makes this tough. I think the price is reasonable, but they’re probably trying to get rid of Pasta because his cap hit is going to be massive.
3) I’d play off that, and their fear that Boston will suck soon. Counter with taking out Wright and adding a so-so prospect.

That offer is a hard pass for me as-is.
I don't want Pastrnak in a cap league as a bad team, giving up Wright, a top 10 or better pick, and one other 1st. Dealing that pick only happens post-lottery once you know where it lands.
