What is everybody thinking for him for 2023/24?

    Contract?
    Stats?
    Team?

He's not going to sign with a team in 2023/24 is my guess. He might late in the offseason and go on LTIR out of good faith from Carolina or MTL. But I doubt we see him play in 2023/24. And in 2024/25 he'll be 36 in Nov 2024 coming off double Achilles tears.

My guess is he's not signed, and retires.

    I second this opinion.

As far as I know, a torn Achilles can heal.
I do think he'll still play in the NHL, but I think it's gonna be a 1yr $1m from somebody... probably closer to training camp or even close to season.

He turns 35 in November... and I think there are more friendly team/player contract options if he is age 35+.
So he might get something better, longer - after 2023-24.

But yeah... I don't see anybody giving him 2yrs or over $2m.
In cap leagues, he's a great risk/reward play.

His torn Achilles didn’t heal. I don’t think it’s smart to risk anything at this point on Pacioretty. The fact that you’re asking now leads me to believe you need to make a call. I think it more likely than not that he retires. If you can stash him for free and not miss out on adding a player more likely to be productive than it’s ok. Otherwise look elsewhere.

If it was his first tear I would agree. It's his second tear. And he's not the most mobile person to begin with.

However we have doubted Pacioretty's ability to come back in the past.
