Which F to start today? Do I pick anyone up?

I'm lagging behind in the final match up this week but trying to maximize my odds of making a miracle happen. I'm trying to decide who rides the pine vs who plays to give me the best odds of catching up. My sig roster is outdated but it's that league.


Current stats:
Me: 13 G, 24 A, 40 PIM, 8 PPP, 1 SHP, 102 SOG, 54 FW, 45 HIT, 42 BLK, 4W, 2.95 GAA, .900 SV%
Them: 18 G, 28 A, 37 PIM, 18 PPP, 0 SHP, 127 SOG, 72 FW, 42 HIT, 35 BLK, 4 W, 2.51 GAA, .914 SV%

The categories I probably have the best chance of catching up on are A, and Goalies cats. Maybe FW. The other thing is I need to maintain the lead in PIM, HIT, BLK. The other GM just picked up Luke Schenn.

Now, I'm trying to decide who sits and who starts on my team.

My current skaters are:
McDavid (vs. COL)
Stephenson (Vs. SEA)
McCann (Vs. VGK)
Wilson (Vs. BOS)
Hughes (Vs. BUF)

The other options available on the bench are:
Marner (Vs. TB)
Marchand (Vs. WSH)
Point (Vs. TOR)

I never thought I'd be sitting those three, but they just haven't been performing as well lately.

On an unrelated note... I have one pick up left (debating on using it for Mattias Samuelsson or Devon Levi to maximize games played or try to catch up on G categories).

As for the rest of my roster.. My D include: K. Miller, Nurse, Dhalin, Durzi, Orlov, and Josi.
My G are: Giorgiev and Korpisalo


The other GM's players are: Kopitar, Trochek, Debrincat, Dubois, McKinnon, Pavelski, Robertson, E. Kane, Kucherov, Letang, Faulk, Pietrangelo, Dunn, Kuemper, Francouz, Sorokin.


Would love to hear some input. Which forward do I start or sit today? Do I make any FA moves? Thanks!

What is "FW"? (I mean, I assume it is face-off wins... but those are really low numbers... that's like 5-6 games for most main C1s getting 10+ FOW/gp).
Usually FW is closer to SOG numbers in a lot of leagues that count them.
Do you maybe only get FW from "Center" position?

Down 54-72 is nothing in FW.
I'd find somebody who has 3 games next 4 days... BUF, CBJ, COL... roster one of those type guys, if available.

Looks like 12 categories - so who wins 6-6 tiebreaker?


The NHL schedule is super heavy tonight (TUE) and THUR...
So do you have a full skater line-up on Wednesday (MON, NYI, DAL, STL, SJ, CGY) and Friday (BUF, COL, NAS, CBJ)?

Filling your WED/FRI line-ups is probably key thing... so this might be a decision you make tomorrow if you can add 'same day' player.

Yep, FW is face off wins, and we’ve both had pretty shit weeks with that. They count for any position. I did drop horvat to start the week because he would barely make my roster due to his limited games. Currently, I have all my C and W slots filled for Tuesday and Thursday, so I could pick up Mittlestadt…the problem is if I pick up any C, that means another C or W (depending on eligibility) would have to sit. He could be serviceable for Friday tho.

As you said, might be worth to wait and see how today plays out. Now I just gotta decide which forwards to start and sit today.

If we tie, I win based on standings.

Oh, and signature is now updated.

I wouldn't use your last move yet... you want to have a "chess move" to make.
And you don't want to tip your hand only for him to have a move to make up what you took over.
(Does he have a move left?)

So you need 6
PIM, HIT, BLK... yes, gotta hope you take those.
SHP... gotta hope that holds
W... hopefully
A...

While FW has a lot of chance for a stack-set... he's got Kopitar & 3gp MacKinnon - so you may not have a chance there.
And adding CaseyMitt only tips your hands to what you are going after. (CM would be a good play for A.)

We'll see what happens today. The other GM's pick up of Luke Schenn today has paid massive dividends so far. 1 G, 5 PIM, 1 SOG, 3 HIT... and it's only the 1st period.

The worst part is I used to have Schenn on my team and dropped him when he got traded to the leafs after he was scratched a few times. Hopefully my team can pick up the slack. Such is fantasy hockey!
