    Default Do Or Die

    both teams in Sig:

I'm always open to others thoughts pertaining to strategy rest of this week. Let's start Team 1, where my head's at. It's close, I am down currently 6-8 but I have two open roster spots with four moves left. Goaltending and peripherals, particularly shots, blocks, PIM, PPP, decide this match. Goals I am forfeiting mentally, down nine, as well as FOW, down by 50. Goaltending is a tough call because he is up one in wins, I am up in GAA but he has a better SV%. Unfortunately opponent has Ullmark along with Binnington, Demko.

Long winded sorry, I am waiting for Demko green light tonight and that prob forces my hand to grab goalie to maintain pace. OR I scoop a back to back play defender the likes of Josh Brown, JJ Moser, Michael Samuelsson (if he plays). Brown most appealing I think for potential PIM, down 7. Deslauriers is out there too but do I really add a fourth Flyer? I am playing down one D.

Team 2; I am down 306-346. I need a mega night from my Rangers but opponent has Panarin who is all but guaranteed to cancel points gained by mine. I have burned 4 of 7 moves, last night Broissoit did not do well, dropping him this morning gives me one empty roster spot. Halak is off the wire, goalies can provide negative points if a bad outing this league, so I figure either preserve the last three moves for the weekend OR I use one tonight on the off night since rosters pretty filled out on Sat./Sun. anyways. Also maybe just maybe Roman comes back tomorrow, his absence killing me. If he does not return though, I have room for a back to back defender tonight tomorrow.

Overarching question; continue being aggressive or maybe pump brakes tonight, inspect the landscape tomorrow.

Be aggressive. You’re down in both leagues. What goalies are available on the wire In both? Are you saying Halak is NOT available?

Yes, Halak was grabbed this morning. I grabbed JJ Moser for the back to back both leagues, Valimaki not available both. For Team 2, I only have Campbell and Grubauer still for potential starts tomorrow night. Only potential goalie option that league tonight is Matt Murray for Dallas or a Yotes goalie. I am now down to two moves for Team 2 and three for Team 1.

Blow your load! You're behind the eight ball in both leagues and the clock is ticking, so I say this is not a time to pump the brakes.

I’d pass on Murray for Dallas - he’s not starting tonight anyway. I also don’t think Campbell starts as Skinner is hot right now. Any Coyotes goalie will give you the saves and potentially sv% but could be bad for GAA. That’s a tough call. I think I’d pass on adding a goalie. I’d add another 2 game D and assume Josi won’t be back. If he is you can drop. Better to hedge that with no news on Josi yet.

naturally Moser did diddly squat last night. Team 1 I really have no interest in starting Jarry against Boston but at least Demko crapped his pants for the opponent last night to give me breathing room in GAA, he's still up in SV%. I am now down one in BLK, hopefully Savard can play tonight. I don't think Andersen gets the nod tonight but tomorrow instead. My goalie(s) are gonna be deployed based on opp green lights, hopefully Swayman goes for BOS. I still have one empty roster slot with three moves left with a full roster today, ideally burn none and load up tomorrow. Cates or Laughton would be the first dump for move after filling empty slot, which one depends if I need periphs more from Scott or offense from Cates.

Team 2 despite a stellar regular season is starting to look dead in the water as it is now 318-370. We both have full rosters today and more or less the same tomorrow. I will need some massive nights from several players but the injury to Josi, Hedman's "decline", Horvat/Meier trades away from perfect scenarios are gonna do me in. If it turns out Grubs/Jack do not provide two starts tonight I will stream one goalie for sure and then the same tomorrow with my last move.
