I like Sergachev. TB will need to start doing some retooling soon. He's only 24 and I think this season is just a preview of what he can when he's not playing in the shadow of someone else all the time.

Now is likely a good time to move on from Hedman. For me this boils down to one of Sergachev or Morrissey. Chychrun is just too much of an injury risk for my liking and Chabot will limit Chychrun's prime minutes. I also have concerns with Morrissey being able to repeat his massive improvement this year over previous years, I think there is a very good chance that he comes back down to earth. Which leaves Sergachev, who as others have alluded to, is ready to step out from under Hedman's shadow and establish himself, for lack of a better term, the next Hedman in Tampa. Sergachev for me.

No harm in keeping Sergachev due to age, but I’m pretty sure Hedman can still give you 70 come next year as this year is not a sign of decline IMO.

I’d roll the dice with Hedman one last year to get an optimal top-5 keeper group and then look to build via redraft.

Agree I think Sergachev at only 24 is only going up. Morrissey is more than likely not going to repeat his heroic play this year (does anyone remember looking at the back of hockey cards and you’d have a guy with like 40, 45 ,40, 85 and 50 points?) Seemed like a lot of players can hammer out a killer season under the right circumstances and my proverbial money is on morrissey coming back down. I agree with bubba Chychrun and his injuries are a concern. I don’t know if you have an opportunity to trade before you have to drop guys but I’d be selling high on Morrissey and who doesn’t need a Hedman or Chychrun?

Honestly in a 12-team league where GMs are keeping 2D... don't lose any sleep over this one.

All are decent choices - and I don't think anyone would be shocked to see Hedman back on top of the pile at the end of next year... or Serg taking over... or JMo repeating a similar year with Bones (activate-the-D) as head coach... or Chychrun taking over OTT PP1 and dominating for the 65 games he plays.

Go with the guy you "feel" will have the BIGGEST 23-24... in a league where 24 D are kept, you've got your Makar - expect you'll need to 'swap out' the other D annually. Go with who you think will produce the most next season. (e.g. Big IR - maybe Chych fits best. Need daily starts - likely JMo in WPG offers more 'off-nights'. Feel like other GMs only trade for 'established' guys? Keep Heds. Want to play it safe? Probably Serg is your best bet).

    Good luck!

Sound advice from YzermansLegacy. Whichever 2nd D you keep, the other 4 keepers are pretty special.

Hedman is the the consistent choice.
Chychrun is the pick with the biggest gamble.
Morissey has the biggest chance of falling back to Earth hard vs what he did this season
Sergachev is pushing Hedman and doing well, but Hedman is still the man in Tampa.

I most likely stay with Hedman; out of all the options he is the more likely to produce and could even still give you 65 or more pts next season. The other 2 options below have more risk/reward with them.

Feeling like taking a gamble for next season and hoping to see an offensive explosion. Then take Chychrun.

If you are liking the idea of catching some youth as they break-out (hopefully); then pick Sergachev.

Hedman is still the safe choice here imo.

Sergachev if youth your priority and you have a 3 year plus plan...

Morrissey will come down to earth. Still be very good, but I don't see a repeat of this season.

Chychrun is just too injury prone for me. Plus with Chabot and Sanderson he has lots of competition for offensive opportunities.

It's somebody on Tampa for me. The other 2 guys are too risky. I think Hedman/Sergachev is a coin flip for the next year or two.
