Honestly, given what I've just learned about Danny Briere's kid's latest antics (wheelchair smashing which is rumored to be on video) I think I want Briere gone as well.

You want Danny Briere gone because his young drunk son made a foolish decision and pushed a wheelchair down some stairs when he was drunk at a bar??!?

Give me a break. Sure it was a stupid decision and the kid deserves to face consequences like paying for any damages to the chair and apologizing to the owner of the chair.

But this is really what outrage society is coming to? Drunk kid pushes empty wheelchair down flight of stairs so let's lock him up, get his family fired from their jobs and shun them all from society forevermore.

I'm so glad there weren't smart phones everywhere when I was in my early 20s (almost 40 now), because I know I made more than my fair share of drunken mistakes.

Bit off track, but Carson Briere was also kicked off his previous team for, by his own words, "partying a bit too much". He's made mistakes in the past but I feel like his last name has hidden him from public consequences.


I also don't know if Briere is hired to be a puppet or do the actual job. Something always makes me think when ex-players are hired with little to no experience, it's based off of them being a puppet.

I thought Briere was already being considered for other GM jobs around the league. I know he doesn't have any NHL GM experience, but it's not like they hired him off the street to do this job. He does have GM experience at lower levels.

Personally, I think he's their choice to take over the role full time but we'll see.

- Part way through 2021-22 season, Briere was named "special assistant to the GM of the Flyers"
- March 2023 named interim GM of the Flyers.

I think you misread the comment. He said he was "shocked to see Carson's actions in the video" meaning that he was shocked that the action was caught on video and not that he was shocked that Carson did that.

Completely agree. Having gone to school with privileged kids who make Briere's connections look like nothing, stuff gets swept under the rug a lot, from behavioral issues to underage drinking & drug problems.

Another rumor is that a player was the final nail in Fletcher's coffin, apparently Provorov. That seems odd to me.

Dubas's experience:
Player Agent (youngest ever certified by the NHLPA, didn't know that)
2011-2014: Sault Ste. Marie GM (2nd youngest GM in OHL history at 25yrs old, would have honestly thought he was the youngest lol.)
2014-18: Assistant GM (I think his role was to manage the Marlies?)
2018-Current: TML GM.

So Dubas's official experience in a management like role was 2011-18 before hired on as a GM. Which would be 7yrs. Briere had 6yrs. Then if you want to talk about their life experiences, I still think Dubas has more due to his family history at the Soo. But also noted, look at all that success Dubas has had in the playoffs lol. Dubas's biggest fault in his tenor is it took him till this yr to pivot from his initial vision, which I'd say probably comes from an experience thing.

PS I'm not like trying to pump Dubas's tires on the age stuff above, I just really didn't know he was the youngest agent, and who manages an OHL team YOUNGER than 25yrs old lol.
