Time to get this started again. Here's a link to last year's thread: 2022 Thread

Rules:

- You pick teams in turn until all teams are chosen.
- The scoring system is simply the total number of regular season wins for your chosen teams. In case of teams not playing 162 games, winning percentage is used as a tiebreaker.
- The player with the most combined regular season wins (or highest winning percentage) between your teams wins the pool.
- There's no cost, so it's just for fun and bragging rights.

Pool size and draft format:

In 2022, we had 8 players, so we chose 4 teams each and had a method (haven't checked so can't remember - Vegas odds or something?) that identified two teams to be chosen twice. To be confirmed. Happy to use this method again if we end up with only 8. The draft is done snake style.

If 10 players, there would be 3 teams each. The draft would be snake style for the first two rounds and the last round will be the same as the second. For example:

- The player with the first pick would have 1, 20 and 30.
- The second pick would have 2, 19 and 29. And so on.
- The last pick would have 10,11 and 21.

If there are more than 10 interested in playing, then we can try to have a second group, or consider groups of 6. If the latter is an option, then we can decide on the draft format i.e. snake, adjusted snake (as above) or some other way.

Joining process:

Those who played last year will get first choice at returning. I have sent last year's group a private message and refreshed the 2022 thread.

Also, it had been agreed previously that I could randomise the draft order, and will continue to do this unless there are objections. It's simply an excel randomise function but if the majority prefer a more 'official' order randomiser, please let me know.

If we are happy with 8 like last year. Do we want to try for 10 or leave it at 8? I'm easy either way so it's whether the two duplicate teams chosen matters, or more importantly, trying to find those two extra people (or 3 if newfcollins doesn't return). My target date to start the draft is on Monday, March 20th.

As above, I'd like to start the draft early next week as the season starts the following week. I'm thinking we'll stick with 8 (assuming newfcollins or someone else joins) and do what we did last year with two teams being drafted twice. Can anyone remember how that was determined? Was it a site that gave odds and we picked the two middle teams to duplicate? Or something similar?
