I kinda expected a 70-75pt/82gp pace. It's hard to go to a new team midseason and light it up instantly. Especially in a situation like Kane who hasn't been on another team.
He was on a 68 point pace in Chicago. I never expected better than that.

He was also clearly mailing it in for a bunch of those Chicago games.

If that really was the case/issue, he'd be pacing better than 60/82 now no? His underlying numbers in New York aren't any better than they were, and his points aren't any better than they were, so how can we chalk up his performance in Chicago to effort? Is he still not trying now?

he is far from main dog in NY...if he wasnt mailing it in Chicago i think he would still be at 90 point pace in there but once he moved, he is not getting a great deployment as he would on team without any other stars...his ice time is almost 2 minutes down from that in Chicago...its a bout what i expected and it appears it slowed down Tarasenko. As i said before, ill stick with it, i dont think getting Kane after getting Senko was the right move...

Well he is at 4pt/last 5gp and 7pts/10gp for over 60pts/82gp. With the learning curve of a new team and new city/arena, he's doing better than with Chicago points wise.

Also he was on pace for 57.4pts/82games for his first 50gp of the season. Then his final 2 weeks with Chicago he played 4games, and had 10pts before getting traded. He clearly turned it up in those games too.

He's doing better with NYR than CHI, but we shouldn't be expecting 90pt pace with the Rangers.

Last 3 games the Panarin-Trochek-Kane pairings have played for 1.4% of Even Strength Time together. Which is about 2.5minutes. So like a shift here and there likely on the PP ending, or icings. They are together on the PP1 though.

Last 10 games of EVs Panarin-Trochek-Kane have played together 10.1% of the time. So they did try it the first 7 games Kane was with the team, but stopped.

I was at the Rangers games v Preds Sunday (crazy blowout) and Canes last night (awesome, playoff atmosphere, great game).

In both games Kane (lined up with Trocheck and Kane) was virtually invisible - when he did get the puck, he didn't do much with it, for the most part plays went to die there. He passed up one slot shot opportunity, inexplicably trying to make a play. And on one occasion, he broke in across center ice with possession, with Trocheck and Kreider off to his left, and for some reason just checked up a bit before the blue line (no checker stepped up, he just slowed up a tad) - but it was enough that Kreider could not stop and he went offside. And Kreider slammed his stick down on the ice, noticeably upset. Pretty clear guys are finding it hard to play with him, although I do agree it's still early - he spent eons in Chicago so this must be a huge transition for him, that plus going from a team going nowhere to a Cup level squad and all the expectation that comes with. He's clearly squeezing the stick a bit I think.

    Anyway, thought I'd share.

Not looking to hijack thread, seeing how we’re discussing Kane thought I’d ask about Panarin.

I haven’t seen any Ranger games this season. I do have Panarin and had hoped with the acquisition of Tarasenko then Kane, he would step it up a bit on the score sheet. I’m just guessing that Panarin has averaged a pt a game since the acquisitions. I haven’t noticed a bump in his scoring.
Has Kane and or Tarasenko motivated Panarin ? Or do I have him over valued ?

I have just looked atFrozen Tools. He has 7pts in last 5gms. Currently at a 92pt pace.

No wonder Kane’s having trouble adjusting to the new system.

Im not surprised Rangers have struggled to find a rhythm, its difficult to bring in a star player and have them fit right away. Stars play a certain way and with this many talented players on the team you dont get as many touches to work through your slump.

Role players that play a simple game are much simpler to fit in and you basically just hope they get hot in the playoffs haha

I also dont believe PKane is really fully healthy so that is part of the issue.

last night's win made me feel loads better about this team's potential to go far. End of day the too many chiefs not enough Indians scenario may be their undoing. Kane's game is puck possession as is most all of the star caliber players on NY so finding this happy medium of when to shoot, when to defer is definitely going on. Kane and Panarin in what I've seen end up screwing each other in a back and forth deferral. Fox is also not playing "his" game to the fullest because of Lindgren being out so long, he is a missing link that really gels it all together.

In response to the person with concerns about Artemi, he was the star of the show for NY last night. Great goal and a world class pass to Fox for the GWG.
