I think Ottawa doesn't add much until the team is sold. I can't see how they would navigate a sale while taking on salary like Parayko this yr.

I do see a scenario where the team is sold, then to make a splash they say "go get EK". The ticket sales and instant fan love for the new owners would drive ticket sales through the roof, until game 15 when the team falls back to earth with Talbot in net still.

Dreger says talks on Parakyo have cooled and he is more than likely staying put past the trade deadline.

There's probably room to do a rental and add for a team that's hanging around, but they probably have to keep the powder dry and wait for the new owners to set the budget this summer.

I have to imagine that most of the buzz here was Edmonton going through their options.

Just watching Insider Trading and Dreger alluded to the Parayko market fizzling after Edmonton got Ekholm.
