Yikes. That’s criminal. I haven’t watched much of the jets but is he a bad defensive player? Does he lack effort? Why do they not play him as they ought?

It reminds me of Sprong. Averaging 11 mins a night in around 60 games he’s going to get close to 40 points. He must be awful on defence or put in no effort…

To clarify I’m not putting Sprong in the same league as Ehlers just comparisons in production vs ice time.

He’s not winning the Selke anytime soon but he more than makes up for any defensive shortcomings with his elite possession skill and numbers.

For comparison, Connor, who played 7 MINUTES MORE than Ehlers, is a pretty shitty defensive player, way worse than Ehlers.

I’m not even going to mention Wheeler, whose game has slowed to a crawl in recent years…

So Jets are absolutely reeling.

After last night, they have gone 12 games in which they have scored 3 goals twice and 5 goals once. Otherwise all below 3 goals output, and they've been shut out three times.

And last night, with an absolute must win v an easy opponent in the Sharks, they lose 3-0.
