ROSTER UPDATE: Coyotes D Jakob Chychrun is a healthy scratch tonight versus the St. Louis Blues due to trade related reasons. F Liam O'Brien is day to day with an upper body injury. Defensemen Victor Soderstrom & Dysin Mayo have been recalled from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL).

Some conflicting reports some indicating the Oilers have stepped up efforts (along with the Leafs), others indicating that the Oilers aren't far down the road on Chychrun.

as a leaf fan im bit conflicted on this one...on one hand he is very very good and i think he would fit well...he is quickly becoming one of my favorite D in the league.....a bit of Josi lite ..on other hand the price will be astronomical and i dont know if this is good move by the leafs...feels like Meier would have similar impact and i think he will come at cheaper cost.

Jeff Marek reporting that the Oilers and Leafs are out, speculating that the Kings are in despite denials. Seravalli speculating that the Kings are in as well.

Kings have always made the most sense given their defense balance, cap space, defensive structure and deep prospect pool. I'm just hoping the Coyotes extract the maximum amount of assets and derail this Kings rebuild.

No way, he’s a goner - I’m almost certain it’s LA and they wanted to delay announcing so as not to overshadow the Dustin Brown celebration last night.

Incidentally, I’ve always loved Brown, what a player and leader and the Cups are a testament to his impact in the NHL. But a statue? WTF? How about honor Dionne first, still greatest player to ever don a Kings jersey.

As a Chychrun owner I think either would be a great landing spot, not sure which is best, I’m going to say LA taking into account keeper leagues as he’s presumably heir-apparent to Doughty on PP1.
